Calpurnia, Caesar’s wife dreamt a dream the night before Caesar’s assassination. She had an instinctive foreboding that the dream
presaged danger to Caesar’s life. She saw in her dream that Caesar’s statue,
had hundred holes; and blood flowed from these spouts like fountains. Many lusty
Romans came smiling, and bathed their hands in it. She believed this dream to be a warning from heaven. So, next morning she begged Caesar not to go to Senate House.

The title of the play is 'The proposal' and it is a very apt one because the whole play is about Lomov proposing Natalya. Right from the beginning to the end of the play, the story revolves round a marraige proposal. Lomov comes to Natalya's house to propose to her but even before he does it, they both start fighting. As a result, Lomov becomes sick and leaves. Natalya's father informs her about the intention of Lomov and she starts lamenting over the loss. Lomov is called back and once again an argument ensues before proposing. Hence, we can say that the title is perfect for the play.

The poem 'Snake' is a representation of the human behaviour. Every individual consists of two sides - the negative and positive attributes. The negative side of the poet compelled him to kill the snake who was drinking at the trough. However, it is important to note that he also had goodness within him, which made him conscious about his action. Thus the interpretation derived is that man is a mix of good and bad qualities. Emphasising the good actions and qualities help him to live as a civilized human being.
