Wanda was a pole(i.e. she was migrated from poland). One reason for her treating different is that she was pole i. e. She was being discriminated being a pole. On the other hand she was quite and innocent. Even if groups of girls including peggy and maddie tease her by asking how many dress she have. She wont say them anything. But really was hurted.

Wanda was a girl who was very shy.she never talked to anyone and never laughed in the class. Also she used to sit on the last bench of her class away from other girls.everyone teased her but she didnt say anything.

Maddie is Peggy's best friend and also teases Wanda but knows in her heart this is wrong. Unfortunately because she is not quite as popular as Wanda she is reluctant to speak up and say that the teasing is unkind. Maddie is also quite poor and wears hand-me-downs, many from Peggy, which her mother alters or embellishes with braid and ribbons to make sure nobody at school remembers seeing them before. It is this fact that makes her reluctant to stick up for Wanda as she is concerned that if the class then realizes she is also poor they will start teasing her instead. Maddie becomes a stronger person by the end of the book and decides that in the future she will be the champion of anyone who is teased and not be one of the children teasing them.

The black aeroplane It is difficult to decide whether the story " the black aeroplane" is a mystery or not. A mystery is happening which goes beyond any rational explanation. We cannot say who was the pilot of the mysterious black aeroplane who guided the writer to land his Dakota safely amidst a dangerous storm. We are however certain that the story the Black aeroplane points out to the heroic spirit of the narrator who did not lose his nerve despite seemingly insurmountable obstacles. He continued to make sincere efforts with courage. That is why, he succeeded in landing his plane safely. The pilot of the mysterious plane might be a figment of his own fertile imagination.

His First Flight The story "His first flight" bring home the point that fear is the most negative feeling that blocks one's progress. One can conquer it with courage and sincere efforts. It is important to take the first important step, which is not always easy. In the story, the young seagull is afraid of flying, remains in the nest as his parents, his brother and little sister fly away. He gets isolated and know that he will starve to death if he does not fly down from his high nest. It is his mother who, with the fish in her beak, comes near to him and prompts him ultimately to make an effort to fly. In his attempt to catch the fish, he comes near the edge, falls down, stumbles, but then his wings are spread. The first fear he experiences is gone. He finds himself flying. He soars high and then comes down to touch the green sea. In this way, he finally overcome his fear and learn how to fly.

This story is about a detective who defies the stereotype; as we know from novels and movies. Ausable is a fat man with short height and thick accent. A young writer goes to meet him to get some inspiration for his next story or novel. But as Ausable says; the young writer must be highly disappointed to see an unassuming person as a detective. However, when they reach Ausable’s room and intruder is already present in the room. Ausable uses his quick wit and makes a story of a non-existent balcony and policemen. The fear of police makes the intruder jump out of the window; only to crash at the ground.

The story is about a quiet and shy girl named Wanda Petronski, a Polish immigrant, who had come to America with her family. She attended school with American children who found her name to be strange and probably, the weirdest in the classroom. This is because they all had easier names. She was poor and was always seen wearing a faded blue dress. Her classmates teased her because she claimed to have a hundred dresses “all lined up” in her closet albeit, always being seen wearing one. The ones who mainly teased her were the two best friends, Peggy and Maddie. Peggy was the most famous girl in school while anyone barely knew Wanda. Peggy and Maddie used to wait for Wanda before school even if it meant getting late. Maddie, a poor girl herself did not like when Peggy made fun of Wanda. She feared that she could be next. She wanted Peggy to stop making fun of Wanda, but could not summon courage to face her as she feared she’d lose her best friend. However, Peggy’s intention was never to hurt Wanda but she was curious as to why Wanda had to lie that she had a hundred dresses in her closet. Truth about the same hundred dresses unveiled on the result day of the drawing competition. The room was lined with one hundred drawings portraying different dresses, each so beautiful. That day, she truly had “a hundred dresses all lined up”, but in the classroom. At that moment, Peggy and Maddie, who were awestruck realised the theory of a hundred dresses and felt guilty about having treated her badly.
