Lencho used the word " bunch of crooks" as he strongly considered that the staff of the post office has stolen thirty paisa from this hundred paisa which God had given to him. He was furious to realize this. It is indeed an ironic description as all the staff had pitched initially to help out Lencho and now he called them a crook.

The postmaster was a fat and amiable fellow. He was a sensible and a compassionate human being who was amazed by the depth of faith in God that is shown by Lencho. Although at first he was amused by Lencho’s letter to God, he became serious and wanted to help Lencho because he didn’t want his faith to be shaken.
The postmaster himself gave a part of his salary and also requested his employees and a few friends to contribute for charity. He felt happy and satisfied when Lencho received the money. This shows that he was a kind and empathetic person as well. He loved to help others.

Lencho is the main character of the story “The Letter to God.” He is a poor farmer who is the sole bread-earner of the family. He had faith in God. Lencho lived in a small house which was situated on the crest of a low hill in the valley. Throughout the morning Lencho sat in his house and waited for the rain to come. He wished for the rain or the shower for his field in which he had grown his crops. Lencho wrote the letter to God as he thought that he would be the only one to help him in his bad times. He wrote a letter addressing to God to send him 100 pesos so that he and his family can survive in such a difficult situation.

To,
The Editor,
Delhi Times,
Respected Sir,
Hope that you are fine. With this letter, I would like to bring the attention of all to the water crisis that is hitting India and Delhi in specific. Over the period of time, the water table is coming down and we need to take action to save water.
Water plays a vital role in our daily lives and we use it for a wide variety of purposes. Water plays a big role in supporting our communities. Without water there would be no local business or industry or not even existence of human life.
It is extremely important that we save water. As a water saviour I took the initiative of installing automated faucets in my house. I am also promoting it in my family and community as it can save 60% of household water.
I hope you will communicate this concern via your newspaper.
Regards,
Kartik / kavya
Karol Bagh,
Delhi

The Goan people are quite attached to their colonial past under the Portuguese rule. They are nostalgic about their good old Portuguese days, the Portuguese people and their famous loaves of bread.
The Goans remember their past under the colonial rule with nostalgia and fond recollections:
- Goa had not gained Independence with the rest of India. This is because they were colonized by the Portuguese and not the British.
- In 1961 Goa gained freedom . The Portuguese were forced to leave.
- But even today the Goans remember their past under the colonial rule with nostalgia.
- They miss the good old Portuguese days especially the Portuguese bakery.
- The smell and taste of the Portuguese bread still linger on their palates.
- To keep the memories alive they have still kept the Portuguese bakeries.
- Every morning the baker called ‘Pader’ a Portuguese word, comes thudding his stick and announces the fresh breads.
- In rituals too the Goans stick to the items of the Portuguese bakery.

Lencho called the post office employees " a bunch of crooks" as he thought that upon asking for help, God sent him 100 pesos but he received only 70 which meant that the rest 30 pesos were stolen by those employees. The fact he didn't know was that those employees were the ones to collect and send him those 70 pesos as a gift from God so that he doesn't loose his faith in the almighty.
Thus, Lencho was wrong in calling them a bunch of crooks.

As soon as the postmaster read the letter, he started laughing. But, soon he became serious when he realized the predicament of the person who had written the letter. Being impressed by that person's faith in God, he tapped the letter on the desk. He said that he wished that he also kept the same faith in God.

The poem expresses the profound idea that the world would end in either of two ways, either by ice or fire. One group is of the opinion that someday the Earth’s core will get so heated up that it would lead to fire destroying the earth’s surface.
