Dr. Herriot took Tricki to his surgery and stopped giving him the unhealthy food items which Mrs. Pumphrey had been giving him to eat. He put Tricki on a diet and left him to play with other dogs in the shelter. To save Tricki and bring him back to good health, he had to even lie to Mrs. Pumphrey. Soon, Tricki became a fit & active dog and he was out of danger due to obesity and lack of exercise.

The title of the story "The Triumph of Surgery" is appropriate because the dog was cured without the dose of medicines. Mr Herriot changed the dog from a lazy, inactive and fat dog into a fit and active dog. Looking the dog after fortnight Mrs Pumphrey was very happy and after knowing that Mr Herriot did it all without any medicinal treatment, she named it as a "Triumph Of Surgery".

You become more aware about how people get affected in different situations. It enhances your overall ability to empathize with others.
Good reading also inspires you to write. Many writers get inspired and gain expertise by reading more and more. You learn the art of using language and enjoy playing with words.
Reading is also a kind of motivation that works wonders in when it comes to de-stressing. Reading motivational books can really change our life for better. Reading autobiographies can also encourage us to work hard and stay dedicated to achieve our goals. It helps us become a better person in life.
