Modal are the form of auxiliary verb

Yogita Ingle 5 years, 3 months ago

Modal verbs are verbs such as can, may, must, need not, shall/should/ought to. They indicate ability, permission, etc.

Example: Vijay is 15 years old and wants to become a mechanic. He is going to take over his father’s garage, so he need not worry about his future. Vijay’s father tells him every day that he must do what he is told and must not touch any dangerous equipment. Vijay can already change tyres, but he has to learn a lot more about cars. He should work in the garage more often if he wants to be a good mechanic.

In the today's society, it is very rare to find people who are always ready to help each other. Postmaster who is a fat, amiable and helpful fellow decided to help a deeply disappointed Lencho to not shake his faith on God. First he laughed badly by seeing a letter writing to God but later he turned serious on seeing the deep faith of Lencho on God thus deciding to help him. So we learn that we should always believe in humanity and make every possible effort to help others. We should laugh on their troubles but try our best to help them. It is always said that if we will help others, we will get lot of happiness. So we should always be ready to help others.

He would be waiting for the plum deer and roaring at the villagers.
If the tiger was in the edge of the jungle, then he would attack the villagers who were living in the corner of the village

Yogita Ingle 5 years, 4 months ago

The tiger moves slowly up and down in his cage. ... He says that the tiger should have been in the jungle. He should have been moving quietly in the shadows near some water hole, and waiting for a plump deer to pass that way.

B.Personification . Tree is given human quality of bleeding

Explanation:

Sometimes the sun smiles, the wind whispers to the trees, and the shadows of the leaves dance in the wind.

Although literally, the sun cannot smile, the leaves cannot dance without legs, and the wind cannot whisper because it doesn’t have a mouth, we apply human characteristics. In personification inanimate object, abstract thing, or non-human animal in human terms. It is used to create more interesting and engaging scenes or characters.

Dear Friend: I hope this letter finds you in great health and prosperity. I am going to share with you a strange experience I had recently! You know the hailstorm destroyed my crop. You also know how much I adore God. Just because of my faith in God, I never felt disappointed as I knew God would always help me. So I wrote a letter to God and went to post it myself. At the post office I posted it putting the right stamp. I was confident God would send me help immediately; and as expected he did help me. I went to the post office the following Sunday. There was a letter waiting for me. In it there was money. But when I counted it I was shocked; 30 pesos were missing. I am sure, the crooked post office staff must have nicked them. There is nothing to worry as I have written another letter to God and requested Him to send me the rest of the money through some other post office. I am confident it will arrive within a week. The rest is fine. Be very careful about these post office employees. Regards to family members. Your loving friend, Lencho

Dear Poko,
Hope you are hale and hearty. This year is not going to be as good for me as the last one. The rains have ruined all my harvest. We have nothing to eat. So, I thought of writing a letter to God and asked him to send 100 pesos. And do you know Poko, I got the money but not the amount I had asked for. Thirty pesos were missing. I have doubt on the post-office employees. I wrote to God again and requested for the remaining money. Im sure he will definitely send the money again.
Im waiting for a reply from God.
With love
Lencho.

The title is justified as the entire story revolved around the dog, Tricky, and his illness. The small dog was very much pampered by his mistress, Mrs. Pumphrey. She often overfed him and this led to some serious illness. Mr. Herriot, the veterinary surgeon, helped Triki by giving him plenty of water and no medicines and no food. At last, Triki recovered and was back with Mrs. Pumphrey. She was very happy and in her excitement said that it was a triumph of surgery

Gaurav Seth 5 years, 4 months ago

The title of the chapter 'A triumph of surgery' is appropriate as getting Tricki well and energetic was a true victory for the vet. Mrs Pumphrey ahd been pampering her pet silly by overfeeding him. As a result, Tricki had become overweight and lethargic. All that the listless dog needed was some exercise and a balanced diet. The vet was able to treat Tricki by controlling his food intake and getting him to play with the other dogs at the surgery. He did not even need to discuss his methods with the owner who presumed some complicated surgery ahd been performed on Tricki

- I want to tell you about my recent misfortune.
- First, my crops were destroyed due to a hail storm and I suffered great loss.
- But, I appealed to God to send me a hundred pesos to make up for my loss.
- Imagine my shock when I was cheated out of thirty pesos by the post office employees: I found only seventy pesos from the money God had sent me!
- Nobody seems to be honest any more!

Lencho seems to be an impulsive man, as he had hoped for a good rain. But he became despaired on seeing the destroyed crop. He had tolerance and the courage to face the challanges in life. His firm faith in God made him to write a letter and the tolerance in him kept him waiting for the reply. He accepted the seventy pesos and again faced the situation writing a second letter demanding for the rest of the amount. In the same manner one must face the situation courageously and be tolerant to overcome the difficulty.

Because he thought god can never do anything wrong some office man must have reduced and taken his money from the packet sent by god.

Gaurav Seth 5 years, 4 months ago

Lencho became angry when he counted the money that God had sent him. He found that the money amounted to seventy pesos only whereas he had asked for hundred pesos. He believed that the post office employees have stolen the rest of the amount because God could never make a mistake. Also, God would never deny Lencho what he had requested.

Lencho hoped for rains as the corn fields needed rain shower for irrigation. He referred to the rain drops as coins. To his biggest misfortune, hailstones came down instead of rain water which would destroy the crops utterly.

After raining for an hour, as Lencho feared, the hailstorm destroyed the whole corn harvest. His hope turned into despair as he knew he would have to stay hungry for a year.

Lencho became angry when he counted the money in it.He thought God could not have made a mistake, nor could he deny the money requested by me As lencho asked for a 100 pesos for growing his field of corn back but he had only received 70 pesos. This made him angry.

Yogita Ingle 5 years, 4 months ago

Lencho became angry when he received the letter because he was only given 70 pesos when he had asked for 100 pesos.

He thought that god would not deny him his wish and hence concluded that someone at the post office must have stolen the money before delivering it to him.

Mrs. Pumphrey, Tricki’s owner starts giving explanations. She told Mr. Herriot that she thought that Tricki was malnourished because he did not have any energy and excitement. She told him that she used to give him malt, cod liver oil and a bowl of Horlicks at night, apart from his regular meals so that he could sleep at night. Although she gave him so much to eat, she says that she doesn't give him much to eat.
