Yes the following statement is true , if matlida would have just simply accepted her fate and had admitted that she had lost the necklace she wouldn't have had to go through such hard circumstances. She wouldn't have had to live in a small house work day and night vigorously and losing a comfortable life . Her beauty faded her hands became rock hard and was chased by money lenders for almost a decade . If she was able to confront her friend she could have maintained a nice and simple life .

The Midnight Visitor is a story of a detective named Ausable and is based on how a detective does his job using his presence of mind. In this story, Fowler a young writer goes to meet a detective named Ausable. Fowler thinks that all detectives are cool and handsome and they have messages slipped into their hands by dark eyes beauties. But Fowler is disgusted to see Ausable. He is a fat guy and lives in a musty apartment. Ausable takes Fowler into his room and as soon as he switched on the light he finds a man standing in front of him. His name is Max. He has pointed a gun at Ausable and is asking for some important document. Ausable starts the conversation about the balcony that is causing people to enter into the room. So Max is convinced that there is a balcony outside the window. Then there's a knock on the door. Ausable says that it's the police who have come to check on the important paper. Max tightens his grip on the gun and puts one leg outside the window ready to jump into the balcony. The doorknob turns and Max jumps into the balcony. The police that they were expecting was a waiter named Harry. Fowler is puzzled. He asks Ausable what will they do about Max who is in the balcony? Ausable says that there is no balcony. He had fooled Max. This showcases the presence of mind of Ausable and changes the viewpoint of Fowler. I hope this answer helps you.

Griffin was a brilliant scientist but his unlawful act made him evil. He found out a rare drug which can literally make people invisible and obviously it was a great discovery in the world of science, however, his act devalued a scientific discovery. Such an incident in the story tells us to learn or develop some qualities. 1.) One should not misuse anything valuable found. 2.) Never have an evil mind, instead be proud and do good for others. 3.) If found or did something great , value that thing. 4.) Keep it secret until you find the best person to tell. 5.) Have a helpful nature to ensure others safety and to help them.

Mme Loisel was a lady from a family of clerks. She believed that she shouldn't have been born in that family and deserved more. She desired about riches and wanted to live the life of a queen. Once she had borrowed a necklace from her friend Mme. Forestier. She lost the necklace and lied to her that it's clasp had broken and it's gone for repair. She and her husband took loans to purchase a diamond necklace to give it back to her friend. It took 10 grueling years of her life to repay the loans. She had to send the maid away, do all the house hold chores, etc and her husband also worked like an ox of a man day and night to pay off the loans. All these struggles taught her the life of necessity. She had become an old, crude woman of the house.
