Bholi was a neglected child because of her ugliness caused by small pox, her stammering and her lack of intelligence.
In the short story ‘Bholi’ by the renowned Urdu writer Khwaja Ahmad Abbas. Bholi was a small girl neglected by all including her parents and siblings. She was not intelligent and a very slow learner.
This was because she had fallen off from her cot and damaged her brain when she was very small. She stammered while speaking. Her looks were also not attractive as she had been hit by a severe bout of small pox. Thus for all her handicaps she was neglected by all.

Annea was only 12 years ols and she was too young to understand what was going around her.`The Diary of Anne Frank’ and the given extract is one of the most authentic works describing the atrocities committed on the Jews during the Nazi’s occupation of the Netherlands in the 1940s. It also provides an intimate account of daily life that her small groups led in hiding in Amsterdam. Her frankness, honesty and sincerity of description of her parents, friends and teachers make her writing the most important document of the Holocaust period.

In this lesson, Griffin is showcased as a selfish scientist who first leaves his mentor to be able to get credit for something he and his mentor had been planning together. He then steals his father's money to be able to finance himself. His father commits suicide because of this. He then creates his invention if invisibility formula and becomes invisible. Next he sets fire to a building in which his neighbor's cat was annoying him. This man used a scientific invention for his own satisfaction. He scared off people and stole things like clothes and bandages to cover himself. He comes across a school friend and asks to do bad deeds. To destroy the city and bring down a reign on nuisance on the people. However, Griffin's friend reports him and he gets beaten to death by navvies.
This all showcases how his invention brought down problems for other people but in the end he died due to his bad deeds.
Science is power. Scientific discoveries are assets. If they come in contact with wrong people they can cause much damage.

Valli (Valiyammai) is a very intelligent, sensitive, clever, self-respecting, fast-forward and courageous girl. She is only eight years old but looks more mature than her age. She has curiosity about things. Due to this curiosity, she starts traveling alone by bus.
She has a passion to fulfill her desire, so she saves money by reducing her daily expenses to raise the bus fare. It was not an easy task for an eight-year-old girl to control his small desires of eat and drink.
She is also self-respecting and hence pays the full fare of the bus and refuses to get help from the bus conductor. She is fast-forward and clever, so she also argues with the conductor of the bus.
She also has sensations and gets depressed upon seeing the dead calf and forgets her happiness and becomes calm.
She has courage so that only eight year old girl left the house for travelling alone without telling her mother.
Thus we can say that Valli (Valiyammai) is an intelligent, sensitive, clever, self-respecting, fast-forward and courageous girl.

Peggy always makes fun of Wanda by asking her how many dresses and shoes she had. She was amused when Wanda told that she had hundred dresses and sixty pairs of shoes. Maddie was also a poor girl and used to wear old clothes given by others. Peggy’s questions to Wanda used to embarrass Maddie. She was not like Wanda. She did not have a funny name. She did not live in a slum colony.

Among the boys Jack beggles and among the girls Wanda petronski won the drawing contest. To show her determination, she didn't attend the school for two days and had drawn a hundred sketches of dresses of different colours.
Wanda had drawn all the dresses which she had claimed to have in the class. Everybody was very impressed with her drawing skill and clapped for her.

Maddie wrote a note to Peggy because she didn't want to loose Peggy's friendship and also because she wanted Peggy to stop making fun of Wanda. She wrote the note instead of going and talking to her in person because she didn't have courage to look her in the face and tell her what she's doing. After writing the note Maddie tore it rather then giving it to Peggy because she thought that Peggy won't value her thoughts and instead would get annoyed by that note. She also feared that Peggy would make fun of her (Maddie) instead of changing her own behaviour.

Maddie was an inseparable friend of Peggy. They studied in the same class and school. They enjoyed together and lived together. Peggy was rich. Maddie was not so rich as Peggy. She was just like Wanda. Peggy used to make fun of Wanda about her dresses or shoes. Wanda told lies about her shoes and . dresses. Peggy knew it but she definitely made fun of her. Maddie was always with Peggy when she made fun of Wanda. Maddie did not like it. She wanted to stop Peggy from teasing Wanda but she did not have courage to do so. Sometimes when Peggy was asking Wanda those questions mockingly, Maddie used to feel embarrassed because she herself was a poor girl.

Wanda Petronski was a Polish girl who had immigrated to America along with her family. She was poor that she came in a faded blue colored dress. It was looking good. But it was not properly ironed. Wanda used to sit at the corner where the boys who scored lower arks used to sit.
She was teased by Peggy and Madie because she used to say that she has hundreds of dresses in her closet. No one knew that the dresses she had mentioned were paintings made by her.

Mr Keesing was an old maths teacher at Anne’s school. He was very strict by Nature. He would not tolerate anyone talking in his class. Naturally, he remained quiet annoyed with Anne who was no doubt the Chatterbox. He would punish her by giving her extra homework. Anne would stuff her assigned homework with such funny contents that not only the class but even Mr Keesing felt greatly delighted. But Mr Keesing still failed to stop Anne's habit of chattering in the class. With the intention of making a mockery of Anne he gave her an essay to write on the topic: ‘Quack, Quack, Quack,’ Mrs Chatterbox. Anne wrote her essay in the form of a story in verse. It told the story of a mother duck and a father swan. The father bites his three ducklings to death because they quacked too much. The father in the poem is clearly Mr Keesing and the ducklings are the children of his class. Luckily Mr Keesing took the joke the right way. He enjoyed this poem and read it to several classes. He stopped giving Anne any extra homework. He allowed her to talk in the class. He even started making jokes with the children. Thus we see how even Mr Keesing got infected by Anne's sense of humour.

“A Library is a treasure for those who can read, but it is a mother lode of peace for those who can understand”
A Library is a place where books are stored and maintained. That’s the most basic definition. But is it just that? Only a person who knows how to love reading can know what importance a library holds. It is filled with racks and racks of books on a zillion different topics, just waiting to be opened and accessed. A Library is the best traditional form of knowledge you will ever come across.
There may be many different uses of a library. Children use it to gain information on their studies and develop habits. Professionals use it to receive more knowledge of their profession. Public officials use it for research. Libraries provide information that are imminently useful at the correct place and time. You have a world of knowledge at your disposal. Libraries are the one that records our culture and preserves them to be reopened and cherished time and again. Our cultures wouldn’t have a place to stay if it wasn’t for the libraries and their dusty racks filled with books.
The most selfless thing a library does is shape the minds of a country’s future. It inculcates a habit of reading and researching in young minds which is a forgotten but extremely useful habit in today’s digitized lives. It is a sea of the intellect for people who want peace as the library has an atmosphere that allows you to concentrate at your level best.
It is also a good economical option for people who cannot afford to buy books and they can borrow them at their own convenience. The first library was the library of Ashurbanipal in 7th Century BC containing a trove of some 30000 cuneiform tablets organized according to subjects. We have come a long way from those tablets to books which can be easily found due to digitalization of the world.
It is said that the library is a hospital for the mind. Why? That is because of the beautiful effects on psychology that it impacts on us. Seating in the library shuts us down from the outside world offering us an atmosphere of complete tranquility. In today’s world, when people resort to other resources for gaining peace or gaining closure, A library is a positive approach to self-development.
