Bholi’s parents were quite ordinary parents. Her father, Ramlal was the Numberdar of his village. Ramlal had seven children — three sons and four daughters; He was quite prosperous; he was quite traditional in his outlook. He sent his son to city for higher education; but he arranged for his daughters when they were quite young. He was quite much worried about Bholi because of her looks and stuttering. Ramlal had to send Bholi to school because of pressure from Tehsildar.
Ramlal’s wife was very backward in thinking; she believed if the girls were allowed to go to schools, nobody would marry them.
Bholi needed special care, but neither of her parents did that; they just wanted to get her married. When marriage proposal from Bishamber came who was a widower and many years older than Bholi, they accepted the proposal without consulting Bholi.

When Bholi was of ten months, she fell off the cot on her head. The injury adversely affected Bholi’s mental and speaking capabilities. She could not speak till the age of five. When she started speaking finally, she stammered. Hence, people considered her a dumb cow. With her teacher’s love and care, she gained confidence. When she grew up, she was able to speak properly without any fear.

In other words, the Verb of a sentence agrees with the Number and Person of the Subject of that sentence.
Error of Proximity
Often, the ‘Verb’ is made to agree in number with a norm near it instead of its proper Subject. It is an error. This common error is called the ‘Error of Proximity’. It should be avoided. The verb must agree with its proper Subject.

The Tale of Custard the Dragon is a light-hearted poem. As we can see that, the names of all the pets are funny. They are rhyming with the poem. The little and the household pets like kitten and mouse are known for their bravery. Their bravery is compared to that of lions. While being a symbol of the courage and fierceness, the dragon is known for its cowardice. Ironically, the dragon saves everybody of the courage and fierceness, the dragon is known for its cowardice. Ironically, the dragon saves everybody when a pirate shows up at their little house. While all of the little pets had hid themselves in the little corners of the house. Eventually, the other pets again boast of their bravery and the dragon accepts his cowardice.

The hack driver seemed to be a simple countryman at first appearance and was ready to help the narrator. The lawyer was in search of Lutkin and hence the hack driver took him to various places where he might find Lutkin. The next day the case came up in the court. As he was unable to find Lutkins, the lawyer was asked to go back to New Mullion with a man who had worked with Lutkins. The lawyer got shocked to find that the hack driver himself was Lutkin. He felt humiliatedand learnt not to be hasty in judging a person.
Bill told the lawyer that Lutkins was a hard fellow to catch . He was always up to something or the other. He owed money to many people, including Bill, and had never even paid anybody a cent. He also said that Oliver played a lot of poker and was good at deceiving people.
