47 COD colony Jaipur, 18th February 20xx The Editor The Hindu, New Delhi, Subject : Creating Awareness towards Health and Hygiene Sir, Through the columns of your esteemed newspaper I wish to draw the attention of the youngsters towards the negligent attitude of people towards basic health and hygiene. The villagers are not paying any attention to sanitation and personal hygiene which is leading them towards ill-health. This hurdle can be overcome by organizing health camps in these areas where we can make these villagers aware of the importance of a healthy lifestyle by means of discussions or health check-ups by specialists. A small dispensary can also be set up there for their regular routine check-up. They must be taught that cleanliness is next to godliness. I invite youngsters through this letter to volunteer their names so that we can put our plan into action. A little effort on our part will save these villagers from contracting serious diseases. Thanking you Yours sincerely amit.

At first, Bholi had agreed to marry an old man because of her father’s honour, thereby placing her family’s interest over her own. However, she later refused to marry him because she saw how mean, greedy and contemptible he was. By demanding a hefty dowry, he took advantage of her bad looks and the desperateness of her father to get her married. This is why she rejected the marriage and silenced everybody else who called her shameless. This tells us that Bholi had grown in confidence and could very well speak for herself.

The title 'A Triumph Of Surgery' is justified as Tricki was able to recover from her illness very soon. Thus, Mrs. Pumphrey names it as a 'triumph of surgery' which suggests victory in the surgery done by Mr. Herriot.

Explanation:

  • Tricki was a highly pampered and overfed pet which leads him to fall seriously ill. This makes his mistress consult Mr. Herriot, a veterinary surgeon for his treatment.
  • Mr. Herriot takes Tricki to his surgery and keeps him there for a fortnight. There the dog recovered soon and began to play with her friends.
  • This made Mrs. Pumphrey quite happy and therefore, she calls it a 'triumph(victory) of surgery' performed by Mr. Herriot. This justifies the title.

Naman Gupts 2 years, 3 months ago

As the title suggest the story did not connect with any medical situation or any operation or surgery. in the story they was a dog name tricky who is owner was Mrs pumphrey who loves her dogs so much and fees it along with the three meals she also gives it extra chocolate oil because she believe that if she did not give it to them it tricky will suffer from malnutrition. James Harriet who was the veterinary surgeon came to check it he advised Mr pump Mrs pump fray to not to give these type of material. one day tricky and his mistress was out for a walk and James harriest was also going by his car somewhere he stopped his car and advised Mrs Pumphrey not to give strictly not to give me to the dog because it was looking very much fat.

Bholi's teacher played an important role in Changing the course of her life. At home Bholi was a neglected child. Nobody cared to give her clean clothes and mend her hair. Unlike her siblings she was weak. She had no intelligence and she had pockmarks on her face. Bholi also stammered. But at the school , her teacher made her confident that one day she would be able to speak like anyone else. With her guidance, Bholi became an educated and aware girl. When bishamber nath demanded 5000 rupees from her father, Bholi threw the Garland into the fire and refused to marry him. She was transformed from a dumb cow into a brave and determined girl.

In the end, Madame Loisel did not only change mentally, she also changed physically (from the demanding work she had to do). Therefore, Madame Loisel changes dramatically over the course of the story. She no longer expects the life of the rich. She realizes that she did have a good life when looking back.

Short answer

Aziz Fatima 4 years, 11 months ago

The necklace entirely changed the course of Matilda's life. The new diamond necklace was of 40,00 francs but she could get it in 36,000 francs. Mr. Loisel possessed 18,000 francs . The rest of the money they had to borrow from moneylenders at very high rate of interest. They sent away the maid and rented a room in an attic. Matida had to wash clothes and utensils and had to do household chores. She had to save even a single penny. She became a rude woman of poor household. She washed the floors with large pails of water. Her voice was not soft as it was before. Her hands became rough nad her skirts bad. She became old.
