The story revolves around the infamous beverage ‘tea’ telling us more about its history and discovery. It begins from the scene where two friends, Pranjol and Rajvir are set to go to Assam, Pranjol’s hometown when a tea vendor asks them if they would like to have some freshly made tea. They buy two cups joining almost every other person in their compartment. From there, the journey begins and Pranjol starts reading his detective book while Rajvir decides to enjoy the scenic beauty. There were soft green paddy fields followed by tea bushes. Rajvir is very excited on seeing such large plantations of tea but Pranjol is unable to match the same level because he was born and brought up in Assam, famously known as the ‘Tea country’. Visiting there for the first time, Rajvir did a lot of study about how tea was discovered and that it dates back to 2700 B.C. According to what he read, it was first consumed in China and reached Europe in the 16th century, where it was mostly popular for it’s medicinal properties. There are numerous stories as to how it was discovered, one about a Chinese Emperor and the other about a Buddhist monk. The former liked the taste of it while the latter, used it to get rid of sleep. As they were having this discussion, they reached their destination where Pranjol’s parents had come to receive them and take them to their tea garden. On their way, they passed a cattle bridge and gave way to a truck filled with tea leaves which drew their attention to the fact that it was the second sprouting season. Rajvir, indeed did a lot of study before coming which impressed Pranjol’s father and he intended to learn a lot more. (Hope it will be helpful)

115 Egmore Chennai-600005 Tamilnadu 21 June 2021 The Editor,   The India Express     Tamilnadu Subject : Evils of street begging. Dear Sir,               Please permit me to point out the evils of street begging prevailing in free India. I shall feel grateful if you kindly publish my vies in the columns of your esteemed ‘daily’.               The evils of street begging are great threat to the social image of the country. Beggars freely road about in the streets of free India. They move from door to door and from shop to shop. They carry begging bowls, besmear their hair with ash and sing holy songs to excite the religious feelings of the people. They expose their bruised limbs to excite the pity of the on-lookers.               Begging leads to many ills. Beggars are parasites on the society. They have made begging their profession. They teach the tricks of the trade to their children. Able-bodied beggars must be made to work. Invalid beggars should be sent to public houses. Begging must be done away with. People should discourage begging by refusing to give them alms. Thanking you, Yours faithfully, Suzanne

Throughout the morning Lencho sat in his house and waited for the rain to come. He wished for the rain or the shower for his field in which he had grown his crops. The rain would help his crops to get prepared for their harvest.

These famous line of Nelson Mandela are very optimistic and inspirational. These lines mean that each human being has the light and fire of goodness in him. This light may remain dormant in his being for some time; but when the need arises for this light of goodness, it becomes lighted and dispels the darkness. This light may remain burning at low intensity, but it never burns out; nor can it be extinguished.

Anil was a kind, simple and easy going young man. He was tall and lean in stature and interested in sports like wrestling. He was a writer who wrote for magazines and made money in fits and starts. The narrator met Anil when he was watching a wrestling match. During this match, the narrator started talking to him to make him his friend. Anil was not very rich and could not afford to employee Hari as a cook, yet he became ready to have him in his room on his request. He had the patience and goodness to not only teach Hari to cook but also to read, write and add numbers. Many times he himself made tea and cooked food and served it to Hari Singh. Though he knew that Hari was stealing little bits of money from him, he ignored this fact. He was a very trustworthy person. Even when he earned a large amount of money, he kept the money under his mattress and not under lock and key. He was generous and paid Hari whenever he got some money. Hari had tried to steal the money from him. He was forgiving and he forgave Hari for the theft and continued to be good to him.

Mr. Keesing is unpredictable. In the beginning, he is very strict and punishes Anne for being talkative by asking her to write essays on topics that are difficult and unusual. But after the third essay, his attitude towards Anne changes and he becomes very lenient. Mr. Keesing understands her joke and he never punishes her after that and allows her to talk in the class.
