Hari Singh is a small time thief. His real name is not Hari Singh, he keeps on changing names to escape from police. His modus operandi is that he earns the trust of people and then robs them and flees. When he sees Anil, he thinks of robbing him and hence approaches him and asks for work. Anil, being a simple person lets him work and even starts teaching him how to cook. Hari Singh is delighted when Anil starts teaching him to write as he plans to rob on a larger scale. Hari steals a little money daily when he goes to buy the daily groceries and one day when he gets a chance he steals money from Anil and runs away. But at the station he has a change of heart and comes back. He is now happy and contented to live with Anil.

The poet feels that when the day will come when world will over, the reason will be Fire ? which is a sign of human's desire or never ending greediness of human which one day totally clean the trees and all the birds $ animals, or the reason will be ice ❄ which is a symbol of hatred of one person with another. In “The diary of Anne Frank” it clearly describes the teacher-student relationship, class atmosphere and discipline. Anne who talks a lot in the class gets punished by Mr Keesing her Maths teacher. He asks her to write essays as punishment which is learning in disguise because he wanted her to focus on studies. He cannot be blamed for the punishment as he did it for the development of Anne. The teacher-student relationship is very respectful and sacred. It is about discipline and classroom manners which are essential for every student as well as teacher, otherwise both teaching or learning could hamper. This relationship is clearly shown in Mr Keesing and Anne Frank actions as they both try to joke on each other but in very humorous and healthy manner. So this healthy relationship is needed everywhere in the class for effective teaching and learning.

The poet takes side with those who believe that the world will be destroyed by fire. Frost connects fire with desire. According to the poet, desire is powerful and would be a quick end. Moreover, the fact that he has had personal experience with desire leads him to first conclude that the world will end in fire. The word fire in the poem means 'desire' and it indicates towards all types of greed and lust. In today's world, human kind's greed is endangering the very existence of the planet earth. The poet favours fire because he doesn't want hatred towards any other human being and desire is much better than hatred, that's why poet favours fire rather than ice.

The crow is a symbol of darkness that is our mentality.in the beginning of the poem the poet eas very sad ,although snowfall is there but the poet was not able to write something.but a poisonous hemlock tree and a crow which are a symbol of darkness changes the poet mood.

Gaurav Seth 6 years, 5 months ago

Dust of Snow” by Robert Frost. Although this is a short, it is very powerful. The crow as a symbol represents death. This is heightened by the fact that the crow is in a hemlock tree, which also represents death

This chapter is an extract from the autobiography of Nelson Mandela (born- 18 July, 1918), the first Black President of South Africa. It begins with the description of their inaugural ceremony which took place on the 10th of May 1994 where the entire nation along with many international leaders embraced the victory of a newly and fairly elected government. It involved speeches by the President and the two Deputy Presidents followed by an impressive air show of fighter jets and helicopters. Long ago, in the first decade of the twentieth century, white supremacy introduced the system of apartheid and made life a living hell for the dark-skinned population. It gave rise to one of the most inhumane societies of the world. Many people have struggled and sacrificed for basic human rights. The author expressed his desire to thank all those freedom fighters who couldn’t live to see this autumn day. He referred to the citizens as the greatest asset of the country. It is these people he gathered his courage from. Mandela believes that courageous is not the man who is fearless, but the man who has overcome fear. He also mentioned the two responsibilities every human has and how in order to fulfil his obligation towards the society, his obligation towards his family was neglected. He became a man of people when he realised that the idea of freedom was an illusion for him and people like him. It was then he joined the African National Congress and fought for his rights till he became the first black President of the nation. According to him, the oppressor is as much a prisoner as the oppressed. As soon as the former robs the oppressed of their freedom he, himself gets robbed of his humanity. Thus, the oppressor too, is not free.

The destruction caused by the hailstorm on Lencho's field was devastating.

The rain was pouring down when suddenly the strong winds brought on large hailstones with the rain.

The hailstorm rained on the valley for several hours and Lencho's field was completely destroyed.

By the end, not a single leaf was left on the trees, flowers were destroyed and so was Lencho's corn field.

The title of the story "The Hundred Dresses" is apt and justified. It is meant to arouse our curiosity as also to suggest that it is not hundred dresses but the designs which are important. Thus, it underlines the importance of talent not possessions
