    Horace was a good and honest man who lead a simple life. He made locks and to satisfy his love for rare and expensive books, he stole from a safe once a year. He is an honest thief who steals only from the rich and only once a year. He thinks that he has planned down to the last detail for his upcoming theft but sometimes unexpected things happen. He is unexpectedly caught red handed by the lady who is actually a thief herself. Due to this not only his burglary attempt failed but he also get arrested for stealing jewels that he actually hadn't stolen. He is an unlike a professional criminal. He is trusting and above all believes in 'honour among thieves'.

    The story conveys to us the ill effects of discrimination against someone who is in a trying situation already. We should not value a person by his or her social economic status. Even a poor person can have in enviable qualities of head and heart. We should not make value judgements on the basis of money ,wealth and possessions. Wanda, a polish girl in the story, is mocked at for poverty, for of dressing and even her lengthy and funny name. No one realizes that she is a talented and skillful girl. No wonder, everyone is surprised when she wins a drawing and colour contest in her school.

    Anne Frank was a German born Jewish girl born on 12 June 1929 in Frankfurt. She died on February/ March 1945 at the age of 15 years at Bergen - Belsen concentration camp due to typhoid disease. She was the author of The Diary of a Young Girl which was published in English in 1952 .

    Noodle is Think- Tanks apprentice. He is smart and intelligent creature with the capability to come up with brilliant ideas. During Think - Tanks communication with the space probe crew on earth, Noodle gives Think - Tank very sensible suggestions from the cloudy pieces of information floating in his brain. He is better aware of the earthlings then Think - Tank . He is a clever martian - wise and wonderful and in the end he replaces Think - Tank and is now the commander in chief.

    Think- Tank is a conceited leader filled with a false sense of pride. He thinks very highly of himself, but he is in fact quite foolish. While communicating with the crew of the space probe on Earth, he is enable to guide them as he lacks any intelligence on Earth. He banks on the idea given by Noodle and pretends they are his own. The resemblance with Humpty Dumpty scares him and he thinks that Earthlings are after him. He runs away from there. He is unfit to be the Commander - in - chief as he is vain and foolish.

    For Mandela courage does not mean the absence of fear but a victory over fear. According to him brave men need not be fearless but should be able to conquer fear.

    The definition of courage for Mandela was to win and attain victory over fear. For him, the absence of fear was not the meaning of being courageous. He considered men to be brave when they had the courage to conquer fear. He does not wanted a condition in the society where the men would be fearless.

    EXPLANATION:
    At last the poet introspects himself and says that from where the animals got those good qualities. He further questions himself that where his own good qualities are gone? Did he left them or had carelessly lost them somewhere. The qualities that were found in human beings in the past, like innocence, kindness, truthfulness are now seen in animals. He wonders that humans gave up these qualities and they have been passed on to the animals.
