The longest cells in the human body are neurons.
Neurons or the nerve cells form the basic components of the nervous system. A typical neuron possesses a cell body called as soma, hair like structures called as dendrites and an axon. Neurons are specialized in transmitting information throughout the body.

A floating object displaces its own mass of water so creating an upthrust equal to its weight. (Archimedes principle). You need to consider density to understand this.
The density of rock ( stone) is several times that of water - so the rock sinks - the water displaced is much less in mass than the mass of the stone.
A large ship is composed mostly of air - the steel is just a shell - so the average density of the ship is less than that of water - so it floats.

When a body is partly or wholly immersed in a fluid, the fluid exerts an upward force on the body. This phenomenon is called buoyancy. The upward force experienced by a body when partially or wholly immersed in a fluid is called upthrust or buoyant force.
