Ribosomes are the protein factories of the cell. Composed of two subunits, they can be found floating freely in the cell’s cytoplasm or embedded within the endoplasmic reticulum. Using the templates and instructions provided by two different types of RNA, ribosomes synthesize a variety of proteins that are essential to the survival of the cell.

- The nucleus is small, round and membrane bound structure found in cell.
- The fluid inside the nucleus surrounded by nuclear membrane is called nucleoplasm.
- It controls the cell’s growth and reproduction because it contains cell's hereditary information.
- It is covered by dual layer called nuclear membrane.

1) A thin and long string exerts a force that is equally spread over a small area, so the force applied due to the bag is more. The pressure is always inversely proportional to its area. So, the pressure that is created on the body by thin straps of the school bag is more and it becomes more uncomfortable to carry the bag. When we reduce the area of the bag, the pressure increases.

Drawbacks of Rutherford’s Model:
- The orbital revolution of the electron is not expected to be stable.
- According to Rutherford’s model, the electrons, while moving in their orbits, would give up energy. This would make them slow down, gradually and move towards the nucleus. The electrons will follow a spiral path and then fall into the nucleus. Ultimately, the atom would collapse. But in reality the atom is stable.

The temperature of a substance remains constant during melting and boiling points till the completion of melting and boiling. It is because substance makes use of latent heat of fusion to overcome force of attraction between particles of solid to change into liquid during melting and latent heat of vaporisation to overcome force of attraction between particles of liquid to change into vapours during boiling.
Therefore, temperature remains constant.

The valency of hydrogen is 1 because it has only one electron in its orbit so, it can exchange only the electron it has with it, So, when hydrogen comes in contact with any electronegative atom it gives off its only electron it has and becomes H+ .

AIDS is the syndrome caused by Human Immunodeficiency virus. This is a virus that attacks the human immune system. A person infected with the virus is said to be HIV positive. HIV remains in the body damaging the immune system and the person remains infectious and is able to spread the virus to others. Over time, as HIV damages the immune and weakens it, one may acquire various illnesses due to the damage done by the virus.
The person infected by this virus is prone to all sorts of diseases as his immune system is weakened and he does not have any resistance against any diseases. Hence he is affected by a group of diseases hence it is called as syndrome.

- It violates the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle. The Bohr atomic model theory considers electrons to have both a known radius and orbit i.e. known position and momentum at the same time, which is impossible according to Heisenberg.
- The Bohr atomic model theory made correct predictions for smaller sized atoms like hydrogen, but poor spectral predictions are obtained when larger atoms are considered.
- It failed to explain the Zeeman effect when the spectral line is split into several components in the presence of a magnetic field.
- It failed to explain the Stark effect when the spectral line gets split up into fine lines in the presence of an electric field.

Pressure is defined as the physical force exerted on an object. The force applied is perpendicular to the surface of objects per unit area. The basic formula for pressure is F/A (Force per unit area). Unit of pressure is Pascals (Pa).
The earth’s atmospheric air is surrounded by a layer of gases and so this air surrounding the earth exerts a pressure known as the ‘atmospheric pressure’. Its value at sea level is 101325 Pa.
