Hydrogen and oxygen are made up of same kind of atom hence these are considered as elements whereas water is made by the combination of different kinds of atoms such as hydrogen and oxygen, hence it is called as a compound and not an element.

The sound traveled from the place the person stood, to the cliff and then rebounded back to the person , so the person heard the resound/echo.
So the sound traveled twice the distance between him/her and the cliff.
Distance between cliff and person = 346 m/sec * 5 seconds / 2
= 865 meters

The pinna collects the sound waves from the surroundings and sends it to ear canal. The ear canal sends the sound waves to the ear drum and send it to middle ear. The hammer, anvil and stirrup amplify the sound waves and send it to cochlea. The cochlea receives the vibrations and convert it into electric impulse and send it to auditory nerve. The auditory nerve sends these waves to the brain.

Causes of Soil Erosion :
(i) Wind causes soil erosion by carrying away the top soil particles.
(ii) Rain causes soil erosion on unprotected top soil by washing it down.
(iii) Improper farming or tilling and leaving the field fallow for long time causes soil erosion.
(iv) Improper tilling and leaving the field fallow for long time causes soil erosion.
(v) Frequent flooding of rivers causes soil erosion by removing the topsoil of the fields near the river banks.
(vi) Deforestation also leads to soil erosion.
