mixture into its component parts, or fractions. Chemical compounds are separated by heating them to a temperature at which one or more fractions of the mixture will vaporize. It uses distillation to fractionate. Generally the component parts have boiling points that differ by less than 25 °C (45 °F) from each other under a pressure of one atmosphere. If the difference in boiling points is greater than 25 °C, a simple distillation is typically used.

Homogeneous mixture has a single phase while heterogeneous has 2 or more Homogeneous is a uniform composition while heterogeneous is a non uniform composition Sugar and water solution is an example of homogeneous mixture Salt and air Or sand and water is an example of heterogeneous mixture

Jagjeet Kaur 4 years, 1 month ago

Homogeneous is that in which both the substances can mix properly like sugar in water and heterogeneous is that in which both substances cannot mix properly like soil in water

Tanya Tanya 4 years, 1 month ago

A homogeneous mixture is a solid , liquid or gaseous mixture that has the same proportions of its components through out any given sample. Conversely, a *heterogeneous* mixture has component in which proportions vary through out the sample.

Mitochondria is covered by a double membrane. Outer membrane is highly porous while inner membrane has a lots of folds These folds create a large surface area for ATP {Adenosine Triphosphate (it's a molecule synthesis)}. ATP is the energy currency of cell and this process takes place in mitochondria Hence it's called as "the power house " of a cell

Tanya Tanya 4 years, 1 month ago

It is the powerhouse of cell and the functions of mitrocondriya are :- Apoptosis Mitophagy ROS production ATP supply through OXPHOS

A polyatomic ion is an ion composed of more than one atom. The ammonium ion consists of one nitrogen atom and four hydrogen atoms. Together, they comprise a single ion with a 1+1+charge and a formula of NH+4NH4+. The carbonate ion consists of one carbon atom and three oxygen atoms and carries an overall charge of 2−2−. The formula of the carbonate ion is CO2−3CO32−. The atoms of a polyatomic ion are tightly bonded together and so the entire ion behaves as a single unit.

Pradeep Mehta 4 years, 1 month ago

Group of atoms in compound or in elament that gains or lose elctron depending on its nature and carry a huge charge are called polyatomic ions. Ex- magnesium chloride,Ammonium chloride, ammonium carbonate etc.

Sublimable substances are those substances which can be directly converted from solid to Vapour state without coming into liquid state. But those substances which cannot be converted into vapour State. For example , mixture of Ammonium Chloride and salt where ammonium chloride is sublimable substance and salt is a non sublimable substances and the mixture of Ammonium Chloride and Salt can be separated by the process of sublimation as ammonium chloride undergoes sublimation so that is converted into gas i whereas a salt is left behind the beaker

Simply multiply by 5/18 whatever no is to be converted from.km/ h to m/ s and if from m/ s to km/h then multiply by 18/5 For this particular Question Answer = 54*5/18 9*5/3 3*5 15 m/s

Yogita Ingle 4 years, 1 month ago

1 kilometer is equal to 1000 meters.
1 Hour is equal to 60 minutes.
1 minute is equal to 60 seconds.
Hence 1 hour is equal to 60*60 =36000 seconds
To convert 54 km/h into m/s
= 54 * 1000 /60 *60
=54000/3600 =540/36
=15 m/s
Hence, 54 km/h is equal to 15 m/s.

Sl. No. Differentiating Property Mass Weight
1 Definition
  • Mass is simply the measure of the amount of matter in a body.
  • Weight is the measure of the amount of force acting on a mass due to acceleration due to gravity.
2 Denotation
  • Mass is denoted by “M”.
  • Weight is denoted by “W”.
3 Formula
  • Mass is always constant for a body and there are several formulas to calculate mass.
  • One way to calculate mass is:

Mass = volume × density

  • Weight is the measure of the gravitational force acting on a body.
  • Weight can be calculated from the following formula:

Weight = mass × acceleration due to gravity

4 Quantity Type
  • Mass is a base quantity.
  • Mass only has magnitude and so, it is a scalar quantity.
  • Weight is a derived quantity.
  • Weight has both magnitude and direction (towards the centre of gravity) and so, it is a vector quantity.
5 Unit of Measurement
  • The SI unit of mass is Kilogram (Kg).
  • The SI unit of weight is Newton (N).

There are three equations of motion for bodies travelling with uniform acceleration. These are explained below:

1. First Equation of Motion:

(Velocity-Time Relation)

            v u +at

Where,  v = Final velocity of body

u = Initial velocity of body

            a = Acceleration

And     = Time

2. Second Equation of Motion:

(Position-Time Relation)

3.  Third Equation of Motion:

Gaurav Seth 4 years, 1 month ago

  • Newton's First Law of Motion: Any object remains in the state of rest or in uniform motion along a straight line, until it is compelled to change the state by applying external force.
  • Newton's Second Law of Motion: The rate of change of momentum is directly proportional to the force applied in the direction of force.
  • Newton's Third Law of Motion: There is an equal and opposite reaction for evrey action

Mitosis  Meiosis
1) This division takes place in somatic cells and as a result of this division growth occurs.   1) This takes place usually in reproductive cells and as a result of this character one generation pass into the other.
2) Completed in one stage.  2) Completed in two stages.
3) Prophase is smaller (as compared to prophase of Meiosis).  3) Prophase longer than prophase of mitosis and divided into five substages.
 4) No crossing over takes place.  4) Crossing over takes place in which exchange of segments of chromatids occurs.
 5) Synapsis does not take place at metaphase.  5) Synapsis between homologous chromosomes takes place (bivalent stage).
 6) At metaphase, centromere is towards equatorial plate and ends of chromosomes towards poles. Centromere divides.  6) At metaphase I, the centromere is towards poles and ends of chromosomes towards equatorial plate. Centromere does not divide.
 7) Chromatids are long and thin. 7) Chromatids are shorter and thick
 8) Cytokinesis follows karyokinesis.  8) After Telophase I, cytokinesis does not takes place always (may occur).

Golgi apparatus is attached to ER(endoplasmic reticulum) .It collects simple molecule from ER and convert them into complex molecules. These are then packaged in small vesicles and stored and transported to inside and outside of cell. Golgi apparatus also involved in the formation of lysosomes. If there was no Golgi apparatus no lysosomes were formed and the foreign materials like bacteria could easily invade and destroy the cell. Hope it's helpful for you........

The term chlor-alkali refers to the two chemicals (chlorine and an alkali) which are simultaneously produced as a result of the electrolysis of a saltwater. The most common chlor-alkali chemicals are chlorine and sodium hydroxide (caustic soda) but can include potassium hydroxide and muriatic acid. The chlor-alkali industry uses brine (salt water) to produce chlorine, sodium hydroxide (NaOH or caustic soda), and hydrogen. An electric current is passed through the brine, to form hydrogen gas at the negative electrode and chlorine gas at the positive electrode, leaving a solution of sodium hydroxide.
