Retardation is -3m/s² Distance is 150m

Aashna Jaiswal 4 years ago

u(initial velocity) =30m/s v(final velocity) =0m/s t(time) =10sec Find retardation? a=v-u/t a=0-30/10 a=-3m/s^2 It's mean that retardation is -3m/s^2 Find distance Use of second equation of motion to find distance S=ut+1/2at^2 S=30*10+1/2*(-3) *(10) ^2 S=300+(-150) S=300-150 S=150m It's mean that distance is 150m.

Mixtures which do not have uniform composition throughout are called Heterogeneous Mixture. For example – mixture of soil and sand, mixture of sulphur and iron fillings, mixture of oil and water etc. The boundaries of constituent particles of a homogeneous mixture can be identified easily; as a homogeneous mixture has two or more distinct phases.

Momentum, product of the mass of a particle and its velocity. Momentum is a vector quantity; i.e., it has both magnitude and direction. Isaac Newton's second law of motion states that the time rate of change of momentum is equal to the force acting on the particle. See Newton's laws of motion.

Yogita Ingle 4 years ago

Momentum is defined as the quantity of motion of the body. It is measured by mass×velocity, as momentum depends upon velocity, and it depends on the direction of the motion of the body as well. Momentum is a vector quantity since velocity is vector while mass is scalar.

Momentum = Mass X Velocity
p = mv

Unit of momentum is given as:

SI unit kg.m.s-1

Lysosomes

The sac-like structures in a cell surrounded by membrane are called lysosomes.

They keep the cells clean by digesting and breaking the outside materials like bacteria, food entering the cell or worn-out cell organelles into small pieces.

They can digest these organic materials due to the presence of strong digestive enzymes that can brreak down organic compounds. Therefore, lysosome is also known as a suicide sac.

Many scientists believe that lysosomes are not present in plant cells and their function of lysosomes in plants is performed by vacuole.

The valency of aluminium is 3 instead of 5 because the energy required to remove 3 electrons from the outermost shell is less than the energy required to add 5 electrons. Because aluminum has three, that means three fluorines can bond. The make the formula AlF3, also known as aluminum trifluoride. Each of the fluorine atoms gets an electron to fill their shell, and the aluminum loses three, giving it a filled shell too (remember, aluminum has three extra electrons).

Water, H2O, is a pure substance, a compound made of hydrogen and oxygen. Although water is the most abundant substance on earth, it is rarely found naturally in its pure form. Most of the time, pure water has to be created. Pure water is called distilled water or deionized water.
No water is not a pure substance. A pure substance is an element that is made up of only one single composition. Water is not pure because it is made up of hydrogen,oxygen and various impurities.

Given parameters

Initial velocity of the ball (u) = 49m/s.

The velocity of the ball at maximum height (v) = 0.

g = 9.8m/s2

Let us considered the time taken is t to reach the maximum height H.

Consider a formula,

2gH = v2 – u2

2 × (- 9.8) × H = 0 – (49)2

– 19.6 H = – 2401

H = 122.5 m

Now consider a formula,

v = u + g × t

0 = 49 + (- 9.8) × t

– 49 = – 9.8t

t = 5 sec

(1) The maximum height to ball rises = 122.5 m

(2) The total time ball takes to return to the surface of the earth = 5 + 5 = 10 sec.

Vaporization can be defined as the process in which liquid state changes into the vapour state. As a result of an increase in temperature, the kinetic energy of the molecules increases. Due to the increases in kinetic energy, the force of attraction between the molecules reduces. As a result, they escape into the surrounding in the form of vapours. This process involves the consumption of heat energy.

Examples of Vaporization in Our Daily Life

  • Industrially, salt is recovered from sea-water by the process of vaporization.
  • Wet clothes are dried up due to the process of vaporization.

Boron,germanium, silicon is example of metaliioids

Meghna Thapar 4 years ago

A metalloid is an element that has properties that are intermediate between those of metals and nonmetals. Metalloids can also be called semimetals. On the periodic table, the elements colored yellow, which generally border the stair-step line, are considered to be metalloids. The term metalloids has been used to arbitrarily classify those elements whose properties are considered to be intermediate between those of obvious metals and obvious non-metals.

Elements: Silicon; Boron; Arsenic; Antimony
