A kaleidoscope is an optical instrument consisting of two or more reflecting surfaces. These surfaces are tilted towards each other at a certain angle to obtain symmetrical patterns when viewed from the other end. The tube with reflecting surfaces consists of coloured pieces of glass. By rotating the tube, symmetrical images are created.

The word kaleidoscope is derived from the Ancient Greek word called “kalos” meaning “beautiful beauty”, “eidos” meaning “that which is seen” and “skopeo” meaning “to look”. David Brewster, a Scottish inventor, invented kaleidoscope on July 10, 1817.

In a kaleidoscope, the sunlight is bounced by the glass, and coloured beads present inside and are reflected in the mirrors to create magnificent picturesque patterns. These patterns offer an excellent visual treat to the person who looks through the kaleidoscope. It’s fun to watch and observe the mixing and matching pattern created insides the kaleidoscopes.

Diffusion:

Diffusion is nothing but the movement of molecules from it's higher concentration to lower concentration.

Or

The spreading out and mixing of a one substance into another substance due to the motion of its particles is called diffusion.

Brownian motion :

The zig-zag movement of small particles suspended in a liquid or a gas is called Brownian motion.Brownian motion tells us that the particles are tiny nature and the particles of a matter are constantly moving.

Endoplasmic reticulum

The large network of membranous sheets and tubes is called endoplasmic reticulum.

They are filled with fluids and carries materials throughout the cell due to which it is also called transport system of the cell.

It transports materials between the regions of cytoplasm or between the cytoplasm and nucleus.

It also provides a surface for some biochemical activities of cell.

It can be classified into two types:

  • RER (Rough Endoplasmic Reticulum)
  • SER (Smooth Endoplasmic Reticulum)

Gravitational potential energy is given W = mgh where, W = 5000 joules H = height above the ground=? m =20kg g = 9.8m/s square W = mgh 5000 = 20 x 9.8 x h h = 5000/20 x 9.8 = 5000/196 = 25.51 .

Yogita Ingle 3 years, 11 months ago

Gravitational potential energy is given by the expression,

W = m g h

where,

W =5000 joules

= Height above the ground = ?

m = Mass of the object = 20 kg

g = Acceleration due to gravity = 9.8 m/s²

5000 = 20 × 9.8 × h

h = 5000/196 = 25.51 m

Yogita Ingle 3 years, 11 months ago

Here we have, Initial velocity (u) = 0
Acceleration (a) = 0.1ms-2
Time (t) = 2 minute = 120 second

(a) The speed acquired:

We know that, v = u + at

⇒v=0+0.1m/s2×120s

⇒v=120m/s

 Thus, the bus will acquire a speed of 120 m/s after 2 minute with the given acceleration.

(b) The distance travelled:

We know that, s=ut+1/2 at2

 ⇒s=0×120s+12×0.1 m/s2×(120s)2

=12×1440m=720m

Thus, bus will travel a distance of 720 m in the given time of 2 minute.
