root 3 = 1.732

we can write n no of rational nos between 1.414 and 1.732 , i.e. it should greater than 1.414 and less than 1.732 , it should be terminating or not terminating but repeating

e.g 1.415, 1.416, 1.517...........1.731

1       A terminating decimal number is that which just terminates or ends in an indefinite sequence of zeros

         e.g. 3/40 = 0.075=0.0750= 0.07500= 0.0750000..............a decimal that ends in an infinite sequence of zeros

2      Non-terminating decimal is that which never ends (never terminates) 

        e.g. pi is non-terminating decimal              22/7=3.142857.........a decimal that never ends......

3     Recurring decimal or non-terminating but repeating decimal   i.e it never terminates but repeats

        e.g. 1/3 = 0.33333333333........... it never ends but repeats three a number of times..........

It’s given that the point DD lies on the side BCBC. Consider the side BCBC and angle CC in the diagram. Also, the circle is centered at AA, as we need to keep AD=ACAD=AC. We can see that, the angle CC has to be acute, if a point DD with AD=ACAD=AC, has to lie on the side BCBC. Once, it is confirmed that the third one is the only possible scenario, we can move ahead with the following solution. A simple construction helps solve the problem. Drop a perpendicular from AA on the side BCBC. Let it meet the side at point PP. From the diagram, we can use different approaches to prove that AB>ADAB>AD BP>DPBP>DP and Pythagoras’ theorem for triangles APDAPD and APBAPB, with common side APAP Trigonometry : We can write expressions for sinθ1sinθ1 and sinθ2sinθ2 and compare. Here, θ1>θ2θ1>θ2 because of exterior angle property (triangle ADBADB) We can also simply state that, the farther we are from the point PP, the distance is clearly increasing, hence AB>ADAB>AD.
