Perpendicular means "at right angles". A line meeting another at a right angle, or 90° is said to be perpendicular to it.

Naveen Sharma 8 years, 5 months ago

When two angles add to 90°, we say they "Complement" each other. because the right angle is thought of as being a complete angle. Complement of 70 is

90-70= 20 degrees.

Naveen Sharma 8 years, 5 months ago

Let the complement of 70 is x.

So
x+ 70 = 90
=> x = 90 - 70
=> x = 20

Two ordered pair are equal only if their corrosponding part are equal. So

3x - 2 = 2x +5
=> 3x-2x = 5 +2
=> x = 7

Also,
4y-1 = 2y + 7
=> 4y-2y = 7+1
=> 2y = 8
=> y = 4
