This equation has infinite number of solutions.

1). Put x=0, 0+2y=6, 2y=6, y=6/2=3 So one solution is x=0 and y=3

2).Put y= 0, x+2*0 =6, x+0=6, x=6 . So second solution is x=6 and y=0
