When the chance is defined in mathematics, it is called probability. Probability is the extent to which an event is likely to occur, measured by the ratio of the favourable cases to the whole number of cases possible.

Remainder theorem: Let p(x) be any polynomial of degree greater than or equal to one and let a be any real number. If p(x) is divided by the linear polynomial x – a, then the remainder is p(a).

Proof: Let p(x) be any polynomial with degree greater than or equal to 1. Suppose that when p(x) is divided by – a, the quotient is q(x) and the remainder is r(x), i.e., p(x) = (– aq(x) + r(x)  -- (i)

Since the degree of – is 1 and the degree of r(x) is less than the degree of – a, the degree of r(x) = 0. This means that r(x) is a constant, say r. Thus we can re-write eq (i) as p(x) = (x – a) q(x) + r –(ii)

In particular, if a, then eq (ii) becomes  p(a) = (– aq(a) + r  =  r,

Theorem 1: Angle sum property of triangle states that the sum of interior angles of a triangle is 180°.

Proof:

Consider a ∆ABC, as shown in the figure below. To prove the above property of triangles, draw a line PQ←→ parallel to the side BC of the given triangle.

Since PQ is a straight line, it can be concluded that:

∠PAB + ∠BAC + ∠QAC = 180°  ………(1)

Since PQ||BC and AB, AC are transversals,

Therefore, ∠QAC = ∠ACB (a pair of alternate angle)

Also, ∠PAB = ∠CBA (a pair of alternate angle)

Substituting the value of ∠QAC and∠PAB in equation (1),

∠ACB + ∠BAC + ∠CBA= 180°

Thus, the sum of the interior angles of a triangle is 180°.

Lets say base = x Altitude is twiceof base Altitude=2x Area of triangle = 225cm sq Therefore formula of area of triangle is 1/2 × atitide × base 225cm sq = 1/2 ×2x × × 225 cm sq =1/2 ×2x^2 225 cm^2 = 1/2 × 2x^2 2/1 × 225cm^2 = 2x^2 450cm^2 = 2×^2 Squares get cancell 450/2=x 225 =x So base (x) = 245

A number which can be expressed as a fraction or quotient p/q with a non-zero denominator

Yogita Ingle 5 years, 3 months ago

A rational number, in Mathematics, can be defined as any number which can be represented in the form of p/q where q ≠ 0. Also, we can say that any fraction fits under the category of rational numbers, where denominator and numerator are integers and the denominator is not equal to zero.
