The strength of the tree lies in its roots, which the poet asks to snap out in order to kill the tree. Thus, the phrase “the strength of the tree exposed” refers to the roots of the tree being exposed to sunlight and air.

In the story,"Kingdom of fools" all the people in the kingdom are fools. They don't have any sense of time and discipline. The foolest person in the kingdom is the "king". The king has an unusal way of solving cases.Whatever comes to his mind is deemed as a decision. The King is a fool but he is the powerful person.Such people can be very can very daanģerous because They are senseless. añd do not sense consequeñces of their decision. This is what happened with the disciple who decided to stay in the city of fools. He did not listen to his Guruji's decision to leave the kingdom immidiately. Hence gets killed in the end as the king orders to punish the person who fits into the stake.

CBSE Class 09 English Language and Literature Revision Note Moments Chapter-1 The Lost Child This story is about a little child who is guided by his parents to the village fair. The child was attracted to many things in the fair like toys, dragon-flies,little insects and worms, sweets, flowers, balloons, etc. Thrilled by all these things,he lagged behind his parents. His parents constantly kept watch over him, He wanted to own them all, but he knew his plea would not be heeded and his parents would refuse to buy him anything. So without waiting for an answer he moved on with them. He was immensely attracted by a roundabout in full swing. He made a bold request for a ride on the roundabout. There was no reply. When he turned round he could not find them anywhere. Panic-stricken he runs here and there in search of his parents, crying in real fear, “Mother, Father.”He realizes that he is lost.He feels absolutely desolated. A kind hearted man picks him up in his arms and tries to console him. The person offers him all those things which he wanted earlier. But now the child does not want anything. He just sobbed, “I want my father, I want my mother.

Gaurav Seth 5 years, 4 months ago

The story is about a child and his parents who are going to a fair. On their way to the fair, the child sees a toy shop and asks his parents to buy him a toy, but, his father stared at him and he understood the father's silent "No". Then to divert his mind, his mother called him up to the mustard field. The Child saw various things on his way to the fair such as insects, doves, butterflies and so on. In the fair also, he sees various things such as sweets and balloons, but he didn't request his parents because he knew what would be the reply. So, he mumered and moved on. On reaching the roundabout, he couldn't resist himself and made a bold request saying that he wants to go on the roundabout and when he turned back for the reply, his mother and father were not there!!! He was confused and ran here and there. He ran to the shrine and fell down. It was then that the kind man came to help him. He offered him everything that he wanted earlier but the child refused and cried for his parents. This shows that the child's parent's were the center an the meaning of his life and all the luxuries in the world were meaningless to him without his parents.

The writer has kept the story ending open, and we may assume that the child met his parents later, as he was not the only one who was finding his parents, but, his parents were also finding him.

Evelyn Glennie and Ustad Bismillah Khan both worked hard to climb the ladder of success.
Evelyn turned deaf at a very young age. But her determination helped her fulfill her dream of not only becoming a successful musician but also of leading a normal life. Encouraged by the percussionist Ron Forbes, she learnt to feel the vibrations of music though her body. She made her way to the Royal Academy of Music. With her hard work and determination, Evelyn secured most of the awards in the Academy. In 1991, she was presented with the prestigious Soloist of the Year Award by the Royal Philharmonic Society.
Having born into a family of musicians, Ustad Bismillah Khan expressed his interest in music at a young age. He was trained by his uncle and inspired by the flowing waters of the Ganga. He practiced hard in solace of the temples of Balaji and Mangala Maiya. He improved and invented raagas that were earlier deemed to be beyond the scope of the shehnai. His contribution successfully brought the shehnai onto the classical stage. Bismillah Khan was awarded with several national awards including the highest civilian award of India, the Bharat Ratna. His accomplishments gave him worldwide recognition.

The story 'Adventures of Toto' revolves around the incorrigible monkey called Toto. Toto was a very naughty monkey. He troubled everyone and when he was kept in the stable, he bit the donkey's ears. He decided to sit in a kettle of boiling water one day. He loved tearing things and whenever one of the narrator's aunt came near, he would tear her dress. He broke dishes and tore curtains and in the end the narrator's grandfather had to sell him back to the tonga-driver for three rupees. Thus, the title of the story is appropriate.

Historically, surnames evolved as a way to sort people into groups - by occupation, place of origin, clan affiliation, patronage, parentage, adoption, and even physical characteristics (like red hair). Many of the modern surnames in the dictionary can be traced back to Britain and Ireland.

Journey of life

Gurnish Kour 5 years, 4 months ago

In the poem - ‘The Road Not Taken’, the road symbolizes our life. The poet says that the path that we don’t choose in our life is ‘the road not taken’. He describes his feelings about that choice that he had left in the past. The path which we have chosen, decides our future, our destination. The important message that the poet wants to give is that the choice that we make has an impact on our future and if we make a wrong choice, we regret it but cannot go back on it. So, we must be wise while making choices.
