Harris is a vain fellow who pretends to be extremely hard working but usually pushes off the burden on other people. he is outspoken and does not hesitate to tell his friends what he thinks about them even if it may not be pleasant. for example he outwardly tells george that his new blazer is utterly revolting and that he must not wear it around them (harris and j). when harris takes on a job he makes a huge fuss out of it like the narator;s uncle podger. it may not be anything majorly important but if harris is going to do it .... the world would know about it. he also thinks very highly of himself and his voice though his friends do not want him to even attempt singing. he is extremely fascinated by tombs and graveyards much to j \'s dislike. he is also quite short tempered and it is best to let him rant off his anger rather than try and talk to him about it.he wouldn \'t mind a drink at any time of the day and enjoys the company of his friends .

The central idea of the poem is greed and selfishness can result in serious complications. Greed is considered to be a cardinal sin. The poem Legend of the Northland beautifully highlights this truth. People who are greedy not only worsen other’s problems and sufferings, but also attract untold misery for themselves. In the poem The Legend of Northland, the old woman behaved very greedily and selfishly to St. Peter who was hungry and faint. She did not have the heart to give even a small cake to the hungry saint. Her selfishness infuriated the divine saint and he converted her to a woodpecker.   If the old woman had shown kindness and given a cake to St. Peter, he surely would have blessed her and multiplied her joys.

It was a dark and stormy night. The whole of Greentown was covered by dark clouds. Amelia was returning home. It started raining badly. Suddenly she saw an U.F.O. appearing from the clouds above. In no time it landed on the road. Three aliens came out. Amelia was afraied and also astonished as she could understand their language. Their plan was to take all the trees away from earth. Not wasting a moment, Amelia called her friends. Those aliens pointed out to a tree. An eerie blue light shot out from their hands making a tree vanish. Soon, Amelia's friends arrived. They tried to scare those aliens by throwing stones, but in vain. Luckily, Mr. Goon, the fat inspector of the area arrived. With a frightened look on his face, he shot at those aliens. One of them pointed his finger at Mr. Goon. To everyone's amazement, Mr. Goon became as thin as a stick. Everybody laughed. Suddenly, Anna, Amelia's friend, ran towards them, shouting at the top of her shrill voice. Those aliens got the fright of their lives and vanished along with their spaceship. The kids were delighted. They had saved their planet. Mr. Goon was left fiddling with his pants.

........... with her friend.

. Suddenly they heard some animal screaming. It was so sudden that they jumped with fright. They looked at each other. They decided to climb the nearest tree to see what was the matter. They saw that at a distance there was an animal. A hunter was aiming at it.

It was screaming for help. The two friends thought quickly. They jumped down from the branches and ran in the direction of the hunter. They threw sticks and fruits from the nearby trees in the direction of the hunter. Then they ran past him. He got distracted and lost his aim. In the meantime the animal got a chance to escape. He quickly jumped and ran away into the forest.

The hunter was furious. He wanted to catch the two friends and punish them. But the friends were too quick for him. They threw their water bottles on him. Before he could recover from the shock the friends vanished.

Gerrard:

Gerrard is the main character of the story ‘If I were you’. He appears to be a director or actor of plays. In the story, we learn that he is a quiet man and keeps to himself. He doesn’t mingle much with people. Despite that, he is an active and a wise man, who always keeps his calm even in adverse conditions. He uses his presence of mind to come out of difficult situations. He takes on the intruder with confidence and nonchalance. With his wit and a clever plan, he traps the intruder and thus, manages to save himself, probably from being killed.

The Intruder:

The intruder is a dangerous criminal who had committed the serious crime of murdering someone. He enters Gerrard’s cottage and threatens him at gunpoint. Although he appears to have a plan, he has a major character flaw. From his actions and dialogues we know that he is not very confident and is scared. Also, he makes the mistake of revealing his plan to Gerrard who in turn uses it against him. Ultimately he succumbs to Gerrard’s plan and thus gets caught.

Albert Einstein is remembered as a “world citizen” because of his efforts towards world peace and democracy. He was concerned about the consequences of the atomic bomb in the country . He even wrote a letter to the president of the United Nations and proposed the formation of a world government to control the use of nuclear weapons. This shows him as a world citizen who was concerned about humanity and this is why Einstein was remembered, in a such character
