Right from childhood, Santosh was not content with a traditional way of life and felt that if she chose a correct and a rational path, the others around her had to change, not she. She wanted to chart her own course in life, rather than following the age-old customs and traditions. She wore shorts instead of traditional attire, went to study in Delhi when girls in her village got married. When her parents refused to pay for her education, she got them to agree by informing them of her plans to earn money by working part time to pay. her school fees. She chose the path of excellence through education, rational thinking and hard work and achieved unparalleled success as a woman mountaineer.

Toto looked cute and so grandfather thought to buy him and put him in the zoo

Sania Khan 5 years, 1 month ago

He bought Toto from a tonga-driver. The tonga-driver used to keep it tied to a feeding trough where the monkey looked highly out of place, so he decided to buy him to add to his private zoo.

Ustad Bismillah Khan brought the shehnai to the centre of the classical music stage through his hard work and tireless practice. Born to a family of renowned musicians and having been trained by his uncle, Ali Bux, Ustad Bismillah Khan surpassed all of them as he honed his art through hours of practice and innovation. His simplicity and humility were evident in the way he conducted himself, he could not be comfortable in the artificiality and glamour of celluloid world and so eventually dissociated himself from the world of film music. He was deeply in love with his country, especially with Benaras and Dumraon: this made him give up the opportunity of opening a music school in USA. He was a true ambassador of India and its rich heritage.

Dear Sir
Subject: Enquiry about the accommodation
My friend Ramanand stayed in your hotel for a week last year during the Diwali holidays. He highly recommended your hotel and raved about the excellent arrangements, the pick–ups, the food, etc. So, I write this to you as per his advice.

I have a plan to visit Simla with my parents and sisters this year from 4th October. I need two double bedrooms with attached baths for ten days.

Would you please let me know if such an accommodation is available during that period? Also please let me know the charges, and other terms and conditions.

On hearing from you, I shall remit you for advance booking and finalise my travel programme. Hope to hear from you.

Thanking you

Yours faithfully
David

hese points might help you elaborate:

- They used to hear scurrying sounds from the false ceiling in the middle of the night.

- Fruits kept at the dining table would be bitten into, bread slices would be nibbled at and flower pots would be toppled!

- The floor around the dining table would show strange looking, muddy footprints in the morning.

- Mrs Raghav and the children started freaking out, thinking there was a ghost in their new house!

- But, the youngest child, Raj, knew there was no such thing as ghosts.

- He decided to prove his family memebers wrong.

- Without telling anyoe of them, he kept awake one night.

- He hid behind the sofa and waited patiently, munching on peanuts and raisins.

- Around midnight, he heard shuffling sounds from the chimney in the drawing room.

- One by one, a family of four racoons slithered down the chimney into the house, slinked to the dining table and had a feast of fruits and bread.

- Raj was bemused by their intelligence; quietly, he took their picture to show the 'ghosts' to his family!

Human beings are born and brought up in such an ambience that they learn to react differently on the same point of contention in different circumstances. In a way, nothing is perfectly right and nothing is absolutely wrong. It is the situation that turns the same thing sometimes right while at another moment wrong.
In the Lesson The Lost Child’ the child is the perfect example of these attributes. While being at the fair, he had demanded so many things to be bought by his parents. When they refused to get him any of these, he had reacted as all those things meant a lot to him.
Once he gets separated from his parents and is found by a kind and noble stranger. He does not want any of these depsite repeated offers by the stranger as if they mean nothing to him now. Now, he is longing for his parents only and nothing else. It clearly reveals that we have dual or an ambiguous attitude to react differently at the same thing in different situations. Our attitude and priorities keep changing from time to time.
