he establishment of the British Empire in the 18th century and the subsequent westernization of India paved the way for a radical change of artistic taste, and a new style of art and architecture emerged.As a whole, the European advent was marked by a relative insensitivity to native art traditions; former Indian patrons of art became less wealthy and influential, and Western art became more ubiquitous .The fusion of Indian traditions with European style at this time became evident in architectural styles; as with the Mughals, architecture under European colonial rule became an emblem of power designed to endorse the occupying power.The Indo-Saracenic Revival was an architectural style and movement in the late 19th century, where public and government buildings were often rendered on an intentionally grand scale.

The tip of Match has potassium chlorate (an oxidant), sulfur, starch, glue and some other ingredients. The striking Surface consists of red phosphorus , powdered glass, and glue.When a match strikes on striking surface, the heat of the friction causes a reaction between the potassium chlorate in the match head and the red phosphorus in the striking surface. That way sparks are formed, which finally ignite the match head that continues to burn after that, the friction caused by the glass powder rubbing together produces enough heat to turn a very small amount of the red phosphorus into white phosphorus, which catches fire in air. . The heat and oxygen gas then cause the sulfur to burst into flame, which then catches the wood of the match to catch on fire.

Sound is produced by vibration

Yogita Ingle 5 years, 11 months ago

Sound is produced when something vibrates. The vibrating body causes the medium (water, air, etc.) around it to vibrate. Vibrations in the air are called travelling longitudinal waves, which we can hear. Sound waves consist of areas of high and low pressure called compressions and rarefactions, respectively.

Let the digits be x and y.

Then, x+y = 9

the original number is 10x+y.

On reversing, we get the new number as 10y+x

The new number is greater than the old number by 27, i.e.

(10y+x) - (10x+y) = 27

or 9y-9x = 27, or y-x = 3

and x+y = 9

Adding the two equations, we get 2y = 12 or y = 6.

Thus, x = 3.

Therefore, the original number is 36.

Back in the 1920s, the Congress had promised to create linguistic states after the independence. But the partition of the country along communal lines changed the mindset of the nationalist leaders. They wanted to prevent further divisions in the country on sectarian lines. Nehru and Sardar Patel were against the creation of linguistic states.

But people from many parts of India began their demand for creation of states based on languages. The strongest protests came from the Telugu speaking districts of the Madras Presidency. Nehru was shown black flags when he went there to campaign for the general elections of 1952.

Potti Sriramulu: In October of 1952, a Gandhian leader Potti Sriramulu went on a fast onto death to demand the formation of Andhra Pradesh for Telugu speakers. After fifty eight days into his fast, Potti Sriramulu died on 15 December 1952. This sparked large scale violence and protests. The government had to concede to the demand and the new state of Andhra Pradesh was created on 1 October 1953.

Creation of more states: After the creation of Andhra Pradesh, demands from other linguistic groups came cropping up. A State Reorganisation Commission was set up to look into the matter. The Commission submitted its repots in 1956. Based on its recommendations; the states of Assam, Orissa, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka were created. The large Hindi-speaking region of the north was also broken up into several states. Bombay was divided into Maharashtra and Gujarat in 1960. Punjab was divided into Punjab and Haryana in 1966.

Let the distance represented in the map be ‘x’.

Here distance covered in road and the distance represented  in the map are in direct proportion.

18/1 = 72/x

X× 18 = 72× 1

X= 72/18

X= 4 cm

Hence, the distance covered in the map is 4cm.

Area of rhombus = 24 cm square
one of its diagonal = 4 cm
let its other diagonal be X
so , 1/2 * 4 * X = 24cm square
x = 12 cm
we know that the diagonals of a rhombus bisect each other at eight angle .
now from one of the right triangle within it we will calculate the side of the rhombus .
the one of the side we get from above process = ( 36 + 4 ) ^ 1/ 2 = 40 ^ 1/2 = 2√ 10
so perimeter of the given rhombus = 4 * 22√10
= 82√ 10

The functions and powers of the tribal chiefs changed considerably under the British rule. They lost much of their administrative power. They were forced to follow the laws made by the British. They had to pay tribute to the British. They were expected to discipline their people on behalf of the British government. However, they were allowed to keep their land titles over a cluster of villages and could rent out lands. Thus, the authority of the tribal chiefs significantly reduced under the colonial rule.

An independent judiciary is necessary to carry out the function of 'upholding the law and enforcing Fundamental Rights'. Anyone can approach the courts if they believe that their rights have been violated. If any law passed by the Parliament violates anyone's Fundamental Rights, the judiciary has power to declare such law null and void.

Volume of the wooden block = 1440 cm^{3}

Length of the wooden block = 36 cm

Breadth of the wooden block = 8 cm

Formula to find the volume of a wooden block = Length ×Breadth ×Height

Height of the wooden block = ?

So, By putting the value of the measurements we know in the formula to find the volume of the wooden block:

=> Length ×Breadth ×Height = Volume

=> 36 ×8 ×Height = 1440

=> 288 ×Height = 1440

=> Height = 1440 / 288 = 5

=> 5 cm

Therefore, the Height of the wooden block is 5 cm.

The greatest impact of the nineteenth century socio-religious reform movements was:

(1) The creation of national awakening among the masses;

(2) The revival of Hinduism as a tolerant, rational religion to restore its lost prestige in the wake of Islam in the past and Christianity in the nineteenth century.

(3) An onslaught on the indignities committed on women, untouchables and other oppressed and depressed sections of Indian society;

(4) The creation of the feelings of sacrifice, service and rationalism;

(5) An attack on the hereditary character and rigidities of the caste system; and finally

(6) A sense of equality, indigenisation and co-existence of cultures and religions.

The pressure at a point inside a liquid depends on the depth of point from the free surface, therefore, the pressure is very high at the bottom of the dam. To tolerate this pressure, the walls of dam are made thick at the bottom. As we move upwards, the pressure goes on decreasing: so the thickness of wall is made smaller and smaller. That is why the walls of dam are made thick at the bottom and thin at the top.
