The High Court is the highest court in a state in India. Articles 214 to 231 in the Indian Constitution talk about the High Courts, their organisation and powers. The Parliament can also provide for the establishment of one High Court for two or more states.

For instance, Haryana, Punjab and the Union Territory of Chandigarh have a common High Court. The northeastern states also have one common High Court. In addition, Tamil Nadu shares a High Court with Puducherry.

The functions of the High Court are described in the below section under subsections such as its jurisdiction, powers, role, etc.

The facility provided by the government to the public such as electricity, water, etc. is known as public facilities. Government should be responsible for providing public facilities because in India there are poor people also who cannot afford Private facilities. So, government should provide facilities for them so that they can afford everything and can spend their life.

Yogita Ingle 5 years, 10 months ago

Public facilities are certain universal infrastructural facilities that are the requirement of all citizens. These include electricity, healthcare, sanitation, water supply, public transport, schools and colleges. The government is responsible for providing public facilities as these are very important and necessary for people in order to lead their day-to-day lives. Provision of public facilities needs to be affordable for all as they require huge investment while being set up. Since private companies operate for profit, they are more likely to look at the cost aspect of their investment in such facilities and would aim to recover their costs. Such action may make them inaccessible to a large number of people.
