Federalism: This refers to the existence of more than one level of government in the country. In India, we have governments at the state level and at the centre. Panchayati Raj is the third tier of government. While each state in India enjoys autonomy in exercising powers on certain issues, subjects of national concern require that all of these states follow the laws of the central government. Under federalism, the states are not merely agents of the federal government but draw their authority from the Constitution as well. All persons in India are governed by laws and policies made by each of these levels of government.

Compost contains the full spectrum of plant nutrients, although the exact amounts vary from sample to sample. Well rotted compost is rich in all of the three main fertilizer nutrients: Nitrogen, Phosphorus, Potassium.
In addition, compost contains micronutrients and trace minerals that are often missing from commercial fertilizer, such as: Sulphur, Carbon, Magnesium, Calcium, Boron, Copper, Iron, Iodine, Zinc and Manganese.

Revenue surveys were conducted in villages. Surveys were also conducted about flora and fauna. Census was conducted to collect data about caste and religious composition of the Indian population.The British thought surveys were important for effective administration. - The most important function of the chloroplast is to synthesize food by the process of photosynthesis.
- Absorbs light energy and converts it into chemical energy.
- Chloroplast has a structure called chlorophyll which functions by trapping the solar energy and used for the synthesis of food in all green plants.
