A fraction is any number of the form a/b where both “a” and “b” are whole numbers and b≠0. On the other hand, a rational number is a number which is in the form of p/q where both “p” and “q” are integers and q≠0. Any number that can be written in fraction form is a rational number. This includes integers, terminating decimals, and repeating decimals as well as fractions. An integer can be written as a fraction simply by giving it a denominator of one, so any integer is a rational number.

Factorising is the reverse of expanding brackets, so it is, for example, putting 2x² + x - 3 into the form (2x + 3)(x - 1). This is an important way of solving quadratic equations. The first step of factorising an expression is to 'take out' any common factors which the terms have. A common method of factoring numbers is to completely factor the number into positive prime factors. A prime number is a number whose only positive factors are 1 and itself. For example, 2, 3, 5, and 7 are all examples of prime numbers. Examples of numbers that aren't prime are 4, 6, and 12 to pick a few.

Metal + dilute acid is give us salt + hydrogen

Meghna Thapar 5 years, 7 months ago

Metals react with acids to form salt and hydrogen gas.

Metal + Dilute acid →  Salt + Hydrogen

Metals react with dilute hydrochloric acid to give metal chloride and hydrogen gas. Example - Magnesium reacts violently with dilute hydrochloric acid to form magnesium chloride and hydrogen.

Metals react  with  water to produce metal oxides with the release of hydrogen gas. But all metals do not react with water.

Metal +  Water → Metal oxide + Hydrogen

Metal oxides that are soluble in water dissolve in it to further form metal hydroxide.

Metal oxide +  Water → Metal hydroxide

Metals  such as  sodium  and  potassium  react  vigorously  with  cold  water  to  lead  to  evolution  of hydrogen, which immediately catches fire producing a large quantity of heat.

Blue Green algae are a type of photosynthetic bacteria consisting either of single cells or colonies which is also known as the Cyanobacteria. Cyanobacteria contain only one type of chlorophyll, Chlorophyll a, a green pigment. In addition, they also contain pigments such as carotenoids, phycobilin.

These bacteria grow naturally in marine and freshwater systems. They thrive in dams, rivers, reservoirs, lakes and even in hot springs. These bacteria normally look green and sometimes turns blue when scum are dying. Almost all species of these bacteria are buoyant and float on the water surface and forms floating mats.
