Microorganisms are harmful as they cause many diseases. There are many microbes which cause several diseases in plants, animals & human beings. Such disease-causing organisms are called Pathogens. We can also say that pathogens are diseases causing microorganisms. Pathogens include bacteria, viruses, fungi & protozoa.

Protozoa: These are unicellular microscopic organisms similar to animals that can move about to capture food and are heterotrophic in nature. They are mostly aquatic in nature. Amoeba, paramecium are some examples of protozoa.

Microbes or microorganisms are tiny organisms which are so small that we cannot see them with an unaided eye. Some microorganisms can be seen with the help of a magnifying glass (such as fungus that grows on bread) while some can only be seen when you use a microscope (such as bacteria and protozoa).

A quadrilateral is a 4-sided plane figure. Below are some important properties of quadrilaterals :
- Every quadrilateral has 4 vertices, 4 angles, and 4 sides
- The total of its interior angles = 360 degrees
- A quadrilateral with four equal sides and four right angles is a square
- A quadrilateral that has opposite sides equal and measure of every angle is 90 degrees is a rectangle
- Parallelogram, trapezium, rhombus, and kite are other examples of quadrilaterals

The process of watering the crops is called irrigation.
Two methods of irrigation are:
(i) Sprinklers: Sprinklers work as fountains. Long perpendicular pipes have holes at regular distances. When water is supplied, it comes out of these holes and spray water in field. These holes have rotating nozzles which sprinkle water in all directions. They control wastage of water.
(ii) Drip System: This system is used to save water as it allows the water to flow drop by drop at the roots of the plants. It is the best technique for watering fruit plants, gardens and trees. Water is not wasted at all.

•Fertilizers are chemical in nature and these are manufactured in factories.
Manure is an inorganic substance that is obtained from decomposition of vegetable and animal wastes.
•Microbes are not needed for fertilizers formation.
Microbes are needed to form manure since they degrade the organic substances.
•Fertilizers are easy to transport ,store and apply to crops.
It is difficult to transport ,store and apply manure to crops
.•Fertilizers do not restore soil texture.
Manure restore soil texture.
•Fertilizers do not help in retention of water.
Manure help in the retention of water.
