The sum of the two digits is 9.
On interchanging the digits, the resulting new number is greater than the original number by 27.
Let us assume the digit of units place be x.
Then the digit of tens place will be 9-x.
Thus the two-digit number is 10(9-x) + x
Let us reverse the digit
the number becomes 10x + (9-x).
As per the given condition
10x + (9-x) = 10(9-x) + x + 27
= 9x + 9 = 90 – 10x + x + 27
= 9x + 9 = 117 – 9x
On rearranging the terms we get,
=18x = 108
x = 6
So the digit in units place is 6
Digit in tens place is 9-x= 9-6=3
Hence the number is 36

Yes it is from Class 8 English. Chapter Name: The Tsunami
At India’s Cuddalore coast, where the waves took the lives of around thousand people, animals like buffalos, goats and dogs were recovered unharmed. On the other hand, in Yala National Park in Sri Lanka, sixty visitors got taken away by the water while no animals were harmed except two water buffaloes. A point to be noted here is that Yala National Park serves as a home to a large number of animals like elephants, leopards and around one hundred and thirty species of birds. In fact, people present at the Yala National Park reported seeing three elephants run away from the Patanangala Beach at least an hour before the waves came in.

let two numbers are x and y
As per given condition
x - y = 10...... (I)
And the second condition
x: y = 2: 3
x/y = 2/3
x = 2/3 y
Put value of x in (I)
2/3 y - y = 10
(2/3 - 1) y = 10
-1/3 y = 10
y = -30
Put it in (I)
x - (-30) = 10
x + 30 = 10
x = 10 - 30
x= -20

- This was practiced in the Madras and Bombay areas, as well as Assam and Coorg provinces.

- The taxes were directly collected by the government from the peasants.

- The rates were high and unlike in the Permanent System, they were open to being increased.
- If they failed to pay the taxes, they were evicted by the government.
- Ryot means peasant cultivators.

If wheat is sown in the kharif season (from June to October), then the whole crop might get destroyed because of many factors such as lack of optimum temperature, adaptability, availability of pests, etc. Kharif season includes the rainy season, which is not favourable for the growth of wheat crop. Therefore, wheat crop should not be sown during this season.
