Unlike regular verbs, Irregular verbs are verbs which do not have to follow any systematic conjugation patterns. As they change forms, regular verbs don't have to go through any crucial change in their simple past and past participle forms.

Soil is the thin layer of material covering the earth's surface and is formed from the weathering of rocks. Weathering is a process of physical breakdown and chemical decomposition of rocks and minerals near or at the surface of the earth. This physical and chemical decomposition is primarily done by wind, water, and climate. As a result of these processes, large rock pieces are converted into smaller particles .these small particles mix with humus (organic matter) and form soil.
The basic components of soil are minerals, organic matter, water, and air. The typical soil consists of approximately 45% mineral, 5% organic matter, 20-30% water, and 20-30% air.

A soil profile is a vertical section through different layers of soil. Each layer has different texture, colour and chemical composition. These layers are termed horizons. The soil consists of three horizons: Horizon

A, Horizon B and Horizon C. The uppermost horizon (also known as topsoil) or A horizon is dark in colour because it is rich in humus and minerals. Humus makes the soil fertile. The next layer is B-horizon that has lesser amount of humus but more minerals. The third layer is C-horizon made of small lumps of rocks with cracks and crevices. The last layer is the bedrock which is hard and difficult to dig.

Some common methods of soil conservation are explained below:

(i)Mulching: The bare ground between plants is covered with a layer of organic matter like straw. It helps to retain soil moisture.

(11) Contour barriers: Stones, grass, soil are used to build barriers along contours. Trenches are made in front of the barriers to collect water.

(iii) Rock dam: Rocks are piled up to slow down the flow of water. This prevents gullies and further soil loss.

(iv)Terrace farming: These are made on the steep slopes so that flat surfaces are available to grow crops. They

can reduce surface run-off and soil erosion.

(v)Intercropping: Different crops are grown in alternate rows and are sown at different times to protect the soil from rain wash.

Yogita Ingle 5 years, 4 months ago

There are five major groups of micro-organisms:
i. Bacteria – They are single celled disease-causing micro-organisms. They can be spiral or rod- shaped.
ii. Fungi – They are mostly multicellular disease-causing microbes. Bread moulds are common examples of fungi.
iii. Protozoa – They mainly include organisms such as Amoeba, Plasmodium, etc. They can be unicellular or multicellular.
iv. Virus -Viruses are disease-causing microbes that reproduce only inside the host organism.
v. Algae – They include multicellular, photosynthetic organisms such as Spirogyra, Chlamydomonas, etc.

The colour texture of soil is determined by  parent rock .

Soil properties such as thickness, grain distribution (texture), chemical composition, physical-mechanical, and hydrophysical features are directly determined by the parent rock.

Vaibhav Saini 5 years, 4 months ago

Weeds are just unwanted plants which are grown in between plants. We can control weeds by cut them before they produce flower or seeds . The removal of weeds called weedicides. We can remove weeds with the help of chemical fertilizers and traditional tool and fertilizers don't harm plants they only remove weeds . ???????? ???? ?????: 1) We don't cut weeds because around weeds there are plants and if weeds contain some harmful thing so it may affect plants and animals . 2) When farmers are fertililising plants they add water to fertilizers and don't give fertilizers in the great amount it may harm plants. 3) When farmer are give chemical fertilizers to plants they should cover there mouth and nose with any Hancerchief or any clothe if they don't cover fertilizers contain chemicals so it may harm farmer.

Weeds are undesirable plants that may grow naturally aling with the crops. We can control them by tilling, manual method ,or by weedicides. Tilling before sowing of seeds help in the uprooting and killing of weeds ,which may then dry upand get mixed with the soil . Weeds are alsi controlled by using certain chemicals called weedicides. Weedicides are sprayed in the fields kill the weeds .And the manual removal includes physical removal of weeds by uprooting them from the soil or chopping them off to ground level periodically.

  • Nitrogen Cycle:

The circulation of nitrogen element through living things and non-living environment is called nitrogen cycle in nature. The main steps involved in nitrogen cycle are:

  1. The nitrogen fixing bacteria present in the soil and in the root nodules of leguminous plants, blue-green algae and lightning in the sky fix atmospheric nitrogen and convert it into compounds of nitrogen which go into the soil.
  2. The roots of the plants absorb compounds of nitrogen from the soil for their growth and convert them into plant proteins and other organic compounds which make up the body of the plants.
  3. The plants are eaten up by animals as food. Animals convert plant proteins into animal proteins and other organic compounds which make up their body.
  4. When plants and animals die the complex nitrogen compounds present in their dead bodies are decomposed and converted into simple compounds of nitrogen by certain bacteria and fungi present in the soil.
  5. Certain bacteria convert some part of nitrogen compounds into atmospheric nitrogen which goes back into the atmosphere and thus the amount of nitrogen content remains more or less constant.
