Domestic violence refers to the injury or harm or threat of injury or harm caused by an adult male, usually the husband, against his wife. Injury may be caused by physically beating up the woman or by emotionally abusing her. Abuse of the woman can also include verbal, sexual and economic abuse.

The Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act 2005 extends the understanding of the term ‘domestic’ to include all women who ‘live or have lived together in a shared household’ with the male member who is perpetrating the violence

In India, people follow different religions. Therefore, India remained neutral in matters of religion and chose to be a secular country. A secular state or a country is one that does not establish any one religion as official religion.
Following constitutional provisions declare India to be a secular state:
(i) The Constitution provides to all its citizens the freedom to profess, practice and propagate any religion of their choice.
(ii) There is no official religion for India. Unlike Sri Lanka where Buddhism is the state religion, Islam in Pakistan and Christianity in England, our Constitution does not provide any special status to any religion.
(iii) The Constitution prohibits discrimination on grounds of religion.

In a group of cows and chickens, the number of legs was 14 more than twice the number of heads. The number of cows was: (a) 5, (b) 7, (c) 10, (d) 12, (e) 14 Solution: Let the number of cows be x and their legs be 4x. Let the number of chicken be y and their legs be 2x. Total number of legs = 4x + 2y. Total number of heads = x + y. The number of legs was 14 more than twice the number of heads. Therefore, 2 × (x + y) + 14 = 4x + 2y. or, 2x + 2y + 14 = 4x + 2y. or, 2x + 14 = 4x [subtracting 2y from both sides]. or, 14 = 4x – 2x [subtracting 2x from both sides]. or, 14 = 2x. or, x = 7 [dividing by 2 on both sides]. Therefore, the number of cows = 7. Answer: (b)

Thank you yogita

Yogita Ingle 5 years, 3 months ago

Digestion is the process of breaking the insoluble and large food molecules into soluble and minute molecules. In amoeba, the food vacuoles are transported deeper into the cell and with the help of the digestive enzymes, the large insoluble particles are broken down to the simplest molecules.

We compare cell with brick because they both are building blocks. Bricks are building blocks of wall, Cell is building block of an organism

Anchal Kothari 5 years, 3 months ago

Thanks Shruti and yogita

Yogita Ingle 5 years, 3 months ago

  • A cell is living whereas a brick is non-living.
  • A cell exchanges materials with its neighbouring cells and environment. No such exchange occurs between the bricks.
  • A cell requires a continuous source of energy for its functioning. Bricks do not need energy.
  • A cell has a specific life span. They will grow, reproduce and die. No such processes are shown by bricks.

Shruti Shree 5 years, 3 months ago

Like a brick wall, your body is composed of basic building blocks, and the building blocks of your body are cells. Fortunately, your cells are way more interesting than bricks. ... Bone cells build up bones to provide support for the body. Cells of the immune system fight invading bacteria. this is the answer of your question

The speed of light in a vacuum is 186,282 miles per second (299,792 kilometers per second), and in theory nothing can travel faster than light. In miles per hour, light speed is, well, a lot: about 670,616,629 mph. If you could travel at the speed of light, you could go around the Earth 7.5 times in one second. The speed of light is measured to have the same value of c = 3x108 m/s no matter who measures it.

Menstruation, or period, is normal vaginal bleeding that occurs as part of a woman's monthly cycle. Every month, your body prepares for pregnancy. If no pregnancy occurs, the uterus, or womb, sheds its lining. ... It passes out of the body through the ******. The ovaries release the female hormones estrogen and progesterone . These hormones cause the lining of the uterus (or womb) to build up. The built-up lining is ready for a fertilized egg to attach to and start developing. If there is no fertilized egg, the lining breaks down and bleeds.
