Mechanical stability can be checked by computing the force constants (or the Hessian matrix of the energy second derivatives). If it is positive definite then your molecule is stable, meaning it will not deform as it is at its energy minimum. Chemical stability maybe checked by calculating the HOMO-LUMO gap. An open-shell system would be unstable and can chemically react very easily, while a large gap molecule would be inert (such is the case of rare gas atoms where the gap is large), because it will not easily hybridize with the atom or molecule that is approaching it.

The resonance energy is defined as the difference between the electronic energy of a real (conjugated) molecule and a hypothetical Kekuléé structure with localized bonds. The resonance energy of benzene is 36 kcal mol-1. To measure the resonance energy of benzene we start with the enthalpy of hydrogenation for cyclohexene, which is -28.6 kcal mol-1. The difference between the potential energy of the actual structure and that of the contributing structure with the lowest potential energy is called the resonance energy or delocalization energy. Benzene is an important organic chemical compound with the chemical formula C6H6.

  • Birds and animals travel from their own habitat to a different habitat due to several reasons at a certain period of the year.
  • This phenomenon is called migration and the species that migrate are called migrators.
  • They migrate to avoid suffering from thrilling heat or cold that imparts a tremendous impact on the availability of food for certain species.
  • Birds and animals leave such harsh conditions and look for some different habitat where they can stay comfortably and have food to survive.
  • They also migrate to find a suitable habitat to lay eggs and raise their young due to improper and inhospitable conditions in their natural habitat.

c. They further sold the products at higher prices, making huge amount of profits.
d. In this way the traders indulged in massive exploitation of the tribals.
e. We may give example of silk, as to how santhal tribes were paid meagerly while the traders prospered.
f. Such was the problem that tribal groups faced with the traders, who considered them as their enemies.
g. Likewise, moneylenders offered loans to tribals to meet their requirement for cash to produce goods , but they charged high rate interest from them. A ratio is a comparison between two or more like quantities in the same units. This suggests that a ratio can be simplified by dividing its terms by the same number.

Gaurav Seth 5 years, 2 months ago

It is the quantitative relation between two quantities which reflects the relative size of both the quantities. It is simply the means to compare the quantities.

Example 1: Suppose in a classroom there are 20 boys and 40 girls. Find the ratio of boys to girls.
Solution: Here, the ratio of number of boys to the number of girls will be 20/40.
By using fraction, we can write 20/40 = 1/2.
Thus, the numbers of boys are half the number of girls in the classroom.
In terms of ratio, it is written as 1:2 and read as “1 is to 2”

CBSE Class 08 Science Revision Notes Chapter – 7 Conservation of Plants and Animals Biodiversity: Occurrence of innumerable number of different types of organisms and the whole range of their varieties (biotypes) adapted to different climates, environments and areas. Wildlife sanctuary, national park and bio-sphere reserve are names given to the areas meant for conservation and preservation of forest and wild animals. Biodiversity refers to the variety of living organisms in a specific area. Plants and animals of a particular area are known as the flora and fauna of that area. Endemic species are found only in a particular area. Endangered species are those which are facing the danger of extinction. Red Data Book contains a record of endangered species. Migration is the phenomenon of movement of a species from its own habitat to some other habitat for a particular time period every year for a specific purpose like breeding. We should save, reuse and recycle paper to save trees, energy and water. Reforestation is the restocking of destroyed forests by planting new trees. Flora: Different types of plants belonging to an area. Example: Silver ferns, sal, teak, mango, etc. Fauna: All animals found in an area. Example: dog, frog, insects, bull, jackal, etc. Endemic Species: Species of plants and animals found exclusively in a particular area. These are not naturally found anywhere else. Extinct Species: Species of plants and animals which have already been lost. Example: Dodo, Indian cheetah, Pink-headed duck, etc. Threatened Species: Species that is liable to become extinct if it is not allowed to realise its full biotic potential by removed the caused of threat. Type of Threatened Species: (i) Endangered Species: A species of animal or plant that is seriously at risk of extinction. Example: Indian rhinoceros, Asiatic lion, Asiatic wild ass, etc (ii) Vulnerable Species: A vulnerable species is a species of animals or plants which are likely to become endangered unless something changes. Example: Chinkara deer and black buck, golden langur, etc (iii) Rare Species: Species whose population are originally small and scattered in the world. National Parks: Protective areas reserved exclusively for the betterment of the wildlife. These are established at the approval of legislature. Example: Hazaribagh National Park in Jharkhand, Desert National Park in Rajasthan, etc. Sanctuaries: Hunting prohibited areas set up by government are known as sanctuaries. These are only for the protection of wild animals. Example: Jaldapara in Madarihat (West Bengal), Keoladeo Ghana in Bharatpur (Rajasthan) Migration: The regular, periodic, two way movements of birds and some animals from their place of residence to some other place along well defined routes. It is linked to seasonal factors, breeding, shortage of foods, etc. The Bharatpur bird sanctuary is known for the migratory birds.

Lustrous

Gaurav Seth 5 years, 2 months ago

Lusture property
Lustre: Metals in the pure state generally shine. The shine on the metallic surface is called the metallic lustre.

Deep Explanation:

Metals are lustrous because of the free electrons present in them. The free electrons can move freely in the metal causing any light incident on them to get reflected back. This reflection is specular reflection rather than diffused and thus the metal surface appears shiny or lustrous.

The climate of any particular place is influenced by a host of interacting factors. These include latitude, elevation, nearby water, ocean currents, topography, vegetation, and prevailing winds. The global climate system and any changes that occur within it also influence local climate.
