The British introduced a new system of revenue collection in Bengal. It was called the Permanent Settlement.
It was introduced by Lord Charles Cornwallis in 1793. Under this system, the East India Company had fixed the revenue that each zamindar had to pay. If any zamindar failed to make the payment of the revenue in time, his estates were auctioned to recover the due revenue.

In 1854, the Court of Directors of the East India Company in London sent and educational despatch to the Governor General in India. It was issued by Charles Wood; the President of the Board of Control of the Company. It came be known as Wood’s Despatch.
Economic benefit was one of the practical uses as pointed in the Despatch. It said that European learning would enable Indians to understand the advantages which accrue from the expansion of trade and commerce. It would make them see the importance of development of resources of the country. Introducing the Indians to European ways of life would change their tastes and then create demand for British goods.

- Gondwana land is the southern part of the ancient super continent Pangea with Angara Land in the northern part.
- India's oldest landmass, i.e. the Peninsula part, was a part of the Gondwana land.
- The Gondwana land included India, Australia, South Africa, South America and Antarctica as one single land mass.
- The convectional currents split the crust into a number of pieces, thus leading to the drifting of the Indo-Australian plate after being separated from the Gondwana land, towards north.
- The northward drift resulted in the collision of the plate with the much larger Eurasian Plate. Due to this collision, the sedimentary rocks which were accumulated in the geosyncline known as the Tethys were folded to form the mountain system of western Asia and Himalaya.

(4pq + 3q)2 - (4pq - 3q)2
= [(4pq + 3q)+ (4pq -3q)][(4pq + 3q)- (4pq -3q)] [∵ a2 - b2 = (a+b) (a-b)]
= [4pq + 3q + 4pq - 3q][4pq + 3q- 4pq + 3q ]
= [8pq][6q]
= 48p2q
