Tipu Sultan was the famous ruler of Mysore who ruled Mysore from 1782 to 1799. Under his leadership Mysore had grown in strenght.
It controlled the profitable trade of the Malabar coast where the Company purchased pepper and cardamom. In 1785 Tipu Sultan stopped the export of these items through the ports of his kingdom, and disallowed local merchants from trading with the Company. He also developed relationship with the French in India to modernise his army with their help.
The British got furious and waged four battles against Tipu Sultan. Only in the last – the Battle of Seringapatam – did the Company ultimately win a victory. Tipu Sultan was killed defending his capital Seringapatam.

In traditional education all students are lumped together under one instructor, and basic subjects read, write, arithmetic. Individuality is not promoted. There was a certain passing number upon entrance exams to determine if students are 'normal.' Different learning styles, social disorders, and mental illnesses were not what the Broad of Education considered appropriate behavior. This is probably where bullying others that are different originated.
Modern education consist of choices, online, independent, education intervention. Social groups are diverse, students can be a cool nerd, jocks can be on the honor roll, people from two different styles walks of life can find common ground and become friends. College is an option for students willing to work hard for scholarships, there are choices. Proms Kings and Queens are not the most important topic.

Within no time he drew around him the best boys of the college whom he constantly encouraged to think freely, and to question all authorities. Derozio promoted radical ideas through his teaching and by organizing an association for debates and discussions on literature, history, philosophy and science. Through these activities, Derozio practically charmed the young students of Calcutta and brought about an intellectual revolution among them.

During the late eighteenth century, the presidential towns of Calcutta. Bombay and Madras rose to prominence as they became the centers of the British power and administration. At this time, many old towns which were manufacturing specialized goods like textiles began to decline. Many old port cities like Surat also declined in importance. People from these cities began to move to new emerging towns. This is known as the process of de-urbanisation.
