Let the radius of the sphere be r.
Then surface area of the sphere ={tex}4\pi r^2{/tex}
New radius of the sphere ={tex}r\over2{/tex}
∴ New surface area of the sphere ={tex}4\pi({r\over2})^2=\pi r^2{/tex}
∴ Decrease in surface area ={tex}4\pi r^2-\pi r^2{/tex}
= {tex}3\pi r^2={3\over4}{(4\pi r^2)}{/tex}
={tex}3\over4{/tex}(surface area of the original sphere).

1) The muslim regarded the sultan of turkey as khalifa or the spiritual head.They were upset when they found that he would retain no control over his empires holy place.
2) Khilafat movement was started by two ali brothers - Maulana shaukat ali and Mohammad ali
3) This movement was started by the muslims to restore the sultan of turkey as khalifa of islam.
4) Gandhi also decided to support the movement as he thought that it would be a golden opportunity for bringing muslims and hindus together.
5)Gandhi successfully persuaded the khilafat committee to accept the non-violence Non-cooperation as this was only effective way to force government to accept its demand.

Uses of electroplating
- Chromium plating is done on various objects like car parts, wheel rims, bath taps, etc.
- Plating of silver or gold is done on less expensive metals by jewelers.
- Iron parts in bridges and automobiles are plated with zinc.
- Tin cans for storing food are made by electroplating tin onto iron.

- 1.We can not fix nail in the wood or wall if there is no friction. It is friction which holds the nail.
- 2. A horse can not pull a cart unless friction furnishes him a secure foothold.
- 3. you can sit on a chair but won't be able to get upon without Friction.
- 4.You can't wear your dress,flipper etc without Friction.
- 5. Friction helps you in writing as your pen or pencil won't work on Friction less surface.
- 6. Friction helps in applying the brakes.
The force of friction may alter depending on the following factors that affect it:
- When two smooth surfaces are in contact, then the degree of friction between them is small because the interlocking between smooth surfaces is less.
- When two rough surfaces in contact, then the degree of friction between them is large because the interlocking of between rough surfaces is too much.
- It also depends on the weight of the object or on the amount of force applied on the surface by the object.
