Let Ashima's age be x, then Sunita's age would be 2x. 2x+4 = 4(x-6) or, 2x+4 = 4x -24 or, 2x+4-4x = -24 or, -2x+4 = -24 or, -2x = -24-4 or -2x = -28 or, -2x = 28 => x = 14 Hence, Ashima's age is x=14 years & Sunita's age is 2x=2×14=28 years.
