Let the interior angle of the regular polygon be x.
Therefore, the exterior angle is x/4.
Exterior angle + adjacent interior angle = 180°
x/4 + x. = 180°
5x /4. = 180°
x. = 180° * 4/5
= 144°
The interior angle is 144°.
The exterior angle is 36°.
Let n be the number of sides.
n = 360°/ exterior angle
= 360° / 36°
= 10
The number of sides of a regular polygon is 10.

In ∆ABC, AB = 15 cm , BC = 13 cm and AC = 14 cm.
By Heron's formula ,
S = ( A + B + C ) / 2
S = ( 15 + 13 + 14 ) / 2
S = 42 / 2
S = 21
Now, area of triangle
= √S (S–A) (S–B) (S–C)
= √21 (21–15) (21–13) (21–14)
= √21 (6) (8) (7)
= √7056
= 84 cm2
Again,area of triangle = 1/2×base×altitude=84 cm2
1/2×14×altitude = 84
7 × altitude=84
altitude = 84/7
Altitude = 12cm
Therefore, the area of ∆ABC is 84cm² and its altitude on AC is 12 cm.

Salivary glands secrete saliva in the mouth which helps in the digestion of food. Saliva is 98% of water but contains electrolytes, antibacterial compounds, mucus, enzymes etc. It is an exocrine gland which secretes substances outside the body or within a body cavity. Saliva has lubricating properties. It protect the inside cavity of our mouth, teeth and throats as we begin to swallow the food bolus. It also cleanses the mouth after the meal and dissolves it into chemicals that we perceive as taste.

Important methods used for preserving food are :
Chemical Method : Salts and edible are the common chemicals generally used to check the growth of microorganisms. Therefore they are called preservations. We add salt or acid preservatives to pickles to prevent the attack of microbes. Sodium benzoate and sodium metabisulphite are common preservatives. These are also used in the jams and squashes to check their spoilage.
Preservation by Salt : Common salt has been used to preserve meat and fish ages. Meat and fish are covered with dry salt to check the growth of bacteria. Salting is also used to preserve amla, raw mangoes, tamarind etc.
Preservation by sugar : Jams, jellies and squashes are preserved by sugar. Sugar reduces the moisture content which inhibits the growth of food spoiling bacteria.
Preservation by Oil and Vinegar : Use of oil and vinegar prevents spoilage of pickles because bacteria cannot live in such an environment. Vegetables, fruits, fish and meat are often preserved by this method.
