The Constitution is the supreme law that determines the relationship among people living in a territory (called citizens) and also the relationship between the people and government.
A constitution does many things:
- First, it generates a degree of trust and coordination that is necessary for different kind of people to live together;
- Second, it specifies how the government will be constituted, who will have power to take which decisions;
- Third, it lays down limits on the powers of the government and tells us what the rights of the citizens are; and
- Fourth, it expresses the aspirations of the people about creating a good society.

Kharif Crops
- The term ‘Kharif’ comes from Arabic language means autumn
- The crops which are grown in the rainy season are called Kharif crops
- Seeds are sown in the month of June/July
- Harvested during the months of October/November
- These crops are also known as monsoon crops
- These crops depends on the quantity of rain water as well its timing
- These crops can grow in hot and wet conditions
- Examples of Kharif crops are paddy, maize, soyabean, groundnut, cotton etc.,
Rabi Crops
- The term ‘Rabi’ comes from Arabic language means spring.
- The crops which are grown in the winter season are called Rabi crops
- Seeds are sown in the month of November/December
- Harvested during the months of March/April
- These crops are also known as winter crops
- These crops mainly depends on the water that has percolated in the ground during rainy season
- These crops grow in cold and dry conditions
- Examples of Rabi crops are wheat, gram, pea, mustard, linseed etc.,
