The East India Company formed its own army known as the Sepoy Army. It reduced its cavalry force and increased its infantry. The soldiers were trained in archery and Sword fight. Like the Mughal states the Company also recruited large number of armed peasants who were trained as professional soldiers. In the early nineteenth century the British began to develop a uniform military culture. Soldiers were increasingly subjected to European-style training, drill and discipline.

People usually buried the personal belongings with the dead body. Some of the burial sites have revealed many skeletons. Historians guess that these were family burial sites. Stone circles or boulders were placed on the surface. They worked as signposts to easily locate the burial site.

We often hear that certain foods contain a certain amount of vitamins and minerals. Minerals are important basic building blocks for proper nutrition and health. Without them, other nutrients are unable to function properly.
Amino acids and enzymes don’t function as well as they should, resulting in other nutrients not breaking down enough to be properly absorbed. The end result; serious vitamin and mineral deficiencies.
Minerals create a healthy environment in which the body, using vitamins, proteins, carbohydrates and fats, can grow, function and heal itself. They are quite different from vitamins in their structure and the work they do, but the two enjoy an excellent working relationship.

Harappan people enjoyed a higher standard of civic amenities than those of Mesopotamia. The Great Bath of Mohenjo-daro and also its many houses with their own water supply, bathrooms and excellent drainage system, all go to say that “the masses enjoyed a degree of comfort and luxury unknown in other parts of the civilized world.”

The Great Bath consisted of an open quadrangle with verandahs on its four sides, and at the back of the three of the verandahs various galleries and rooms. There was a large swimming enclosure in the center of the quadrangle measuring 12 x 7 meters, its depth was 2.5 meters. At either end, there was a raised platform with a flight of steps leading down to the pool. The pool was filled with water taken from a well, situated nearby. After periodic cleaning of the pool, the water was discharged into a huge drain connected to the main drain on the street. The walls of the pool were made watertight using specially-made bricks and gypsum mortar.

- The indigo plant grows primarily in the tropics and this was the primary reason for the British to turn to India for the growth of the indigo plant.
- By the thirteenth century Indian indigo was being used by cloth manufacturers in Italy, France and Britain to dye cloth.
- The demand for Indian indigo grew, as European cloth manufacturers wanted only Indian Indigo as it produced a rich blue colour. Due to this demand the price of Indian indigo rose in the European market and mediated the British to grow more indigo in the Indian soil.
- Another reason was the industrialisation of Britain as this resulted in the expansion of cotton production creating an enormous new demand for cloth dyes.

A democratic country needs a Constitution, because the Constitution serves several purposes. First, it lays out certain ideals that form the basis of the kind of country that we as citizens aspire or live in. A country is usually made up of different communities of people who share certain beliefs but may not necessarily agree on all issues. A Constitution help serve as a set of rules and principles that all persons in a country can agree upon as the basis of the way in which they want the country to be governed.
