(i) In India, about 63% people were engaged in agriculture sector in 2001.
(ii) Share in GDP was more than 40% in 1973.
(iii) Raw materials for secondary sectors are mostly supplied by agriculture. But now, the share of agriculture is declining in the GDP year by year. So, it is a matter of serious concern for all.
(iv) Share of agriculture in the GDP has declined from 44% to 24% during 1973 to 2003.
(v) The primary sector continues to be the largest employer even in 2000 but the production has not increased by this rate.

There were a number of problems that troubled Ashoka while introducing Dhamma. People in the empire followed different religions and this sometimes led to conflict. Animals were sacrificed. Slaves and servants were ill-treated. There were quarrels in the family and among the neighbours. This policy was meant to bring the people of his empire together and inculcate in them a sprit of tolerance,non-violence,and respect for each other. He felt it was his moral duty to solve the problems of his subjects.

The victims of the Bhopal gas tragedy got some monetary compensation. But money cannot substitute for a near and dear one who may have lost his life in the tragedy. Many people who were maimed for life have no use for the compensation money. Hence, it can be said that the victims of the Bhopal gas tragedy did not get justice.

There are many facilities which need to be provided to everyone. These are known as public facilities. Examples: healthcare, sanitation, electricity, public transport, schools, colleges, drinking water, etc.
One important characteristic of public facility is that once it is provided its benefit can be shared by many people. For example; if a school comes up in a locality, many children are benefited from that school. Similarly, if a road is built through a village then many people are benefited from the road.
