An ore is a natural occurrence of rock or sediment that contains sufficient minerals with economically important elements, typically metals, that can be economically extracted from the deposit.[1] The ores are extracted at a profit from the earth through mining; they are then refined (often via smelting) to extract the valuable element, or elements. The ore grade, or concentration of an ore mineral or metal, as well as its form of occurrence, will directly affect the costs associated with mining the ore. The cost of extraction must thus be weighed against the metal value contained in the rock to determine what ore can be processed and what ore is of too low a grade to be worth mining. Metal ores are generally oxides, sulfides, silicates, or native metals (such as native copper) that are not commonly concentrated in the Earth's crust, or noble metals (not usually forming compounds) such as gold. The ores must be processed to extract the elements of interest from the waste rock and from the ore minerals. Ore bodies are formed by a variety of geological processes. The process of ore formation is called ore genesis.

The physical characteristics of minerals include traits which are used to identify and describe mineral species. These traits include color, streak, luster, density, hardness, cleavage, fracture, tenacity, and crystal habit. Certain wavelengths of light are reflected by the atoms of a mineral's crystal lattice while others are absorbed. Those wavelengths of light which are reflected are perceived by the viewer to possess the property of color. Some minerals derive their color from the presence of a particular element within the crystal lattice. The presence of such an element can determine which wavelengths of light are reflected and which are absorbed. This type of coloration in minerals is termed idiochromatism; different samples of an idiochromatic mineral species will all display the same color. Other minerals are colored by the presence of certain elements in mixture. Different samples of such a species may exhibit a range of similar colors. Still other mineral species may usually be colorless, but may display several different and startling colors when trace amounts of impurities, or elements which are not an integral part of the crystalline lattice, are present. Coloration which is caused by the presence of an element foreign to the crystal lattice, whether in mixture or in trace amounts, is termed allochromatism. Certain elements are strong pigmenting agents and may lend vivid colors to specimens when they are present, whether as a part of the crystal lattice, in mixture, or as an impurity. These elements are termed the chromophores. Streak is the color which a mineral displays when it has been ground to a fine powder. Trace amounts of impurities do not tend to affect the streak of a mineral, so this characteristic is usually more predictable than color. Two different specimens of the same species may be expected to possess the same streak, whereas they may display different colors.

Minerals are defined as solid, inorganic, naturally occurring substances with a definite chemical formula and general structure. Almost all chemical elements in the Earth's crust are associated with at least one mineral. They vary in color, hardness, density, crystal form, crystal size, transparency, composition, location, and abundance. Some minerals are radioactive (uranophane), while others are magnetic (magnetite). Some are uncombined elements, such as gold, silver, sulfur, bismuth, copper and platinum. Certain minerals, such as fluorite (calcium fluoride), glow with a vibrant luminescence after exposure to ultraviolet light. Feldspar (a potassium aluminum silicate) and quartz (silicon dioxide) are the most abundant minerals found in the Earth's crust. Mankind has coveted many minerals and gemstones due to their striking, beautiful colors. Some specimens of opal exhibit iridescent, rainbow-like colors within their crystals, while some specimens of the gemstone tourmaline show progressions of watermelon-like green to pink color from one side of a crystal to another. Although interesting, a few minerals are deceiving; many amateur prospectors have been tricked into thinking they have found gold, but have instead found pyrite (iron disulfide), otherwise known as "Fool's Gold" due to its uncanny resemblance to the precious metal. Diamond, the hardest natural substance found on Earth, has long been prized as the most desirable of all minerals due to its stunning interaction with light. Most diamonds, though, are impure and not suitable as gemstones; instead, they find industrial use as cutting tools, and are even made synthetically to meet this demand.???

The ryotwari system was introduced by Captain Alexander Read. This system was further developed by Thomas Munroe. According to the new system the revenue was to be collected directly from the farmers or ryots. This was necessary as the zamindari system was not prevalent in the southern regions. The lands of each farmer were separately assessed and the revenue was fixed accordingly. This system was also known as the Munro System.

The main features of Permanent Settlement are as follows:

  1. Rajas and taluqdars were recognised as zamindars, who were asked to collect rent from the peasants and pay revenue to the company.
  2. The amount to be paid was fixed.
  3. The revenue that had been fixed was so high that the zamindars found it difficult to pay.
  4. This would ensure a regular flow of revenue into the company’s coffers and at the same time encourage the zamindars to invest in improving the land.

Human resource is the ultimate resource. Healthy, educated and motivated people develop resources as per their requirements.

Swadesh Tayade 5 years, 11 months ago

Human resources are the people who make up the workforce of an organization, business sector, or economy. "Human capital" is sometimes used synonymously with "human resources", although human capital typically refers to a narrower effect (i.e., the knowledge the individuals embody and economic growth). Likewise, other terms sometimes used include manpower, talent, labor, personnel, or simply people. A human-resources department (HR department) of an organization performs human resource management, overseeing various aspects of employment, such as compliance with labor law and employment standards, administration of employee benefits, and some aspects of recruitment.

Most countries in the world have a Constitution. The Constitution serves several purposes. First, it lays out certain ideals that form the basis of the kind of country that we as citizens aspire to live in. A Constitution tells us what the fundamental nature of our society is. A country is usually made up of different communities of people who share certain beliefs but may not necessarily agree on all issues. A Constitution helps serve as a set of rules and principles that all persons in a country can agree upon as the basis of the way in which they want the country to be governed. This includes not only the type of government but also an agreement on certain ideals that they all believe the country should uphold.

The second important purpose of a Constitution is to define the nature of a country’s political system. For example, Nepal’s earlier Constitution stated that the country was to be ruled by the King and his council of ministers. In countries that have adopted a democratic form of government or polity, the Constitution plays a crucial role in laying out certain important guidelines that govern decision-making within these societies.

Natural resources are a precious gift of nature to the mankind. The natural resources and the living organisms are interdependent on each other and form the biosphere. We should use them judiciously for our benefit, but avoid their depletion. The only way to create balance and harmony with nature is to conserve our natural resources.

Some of the ways of conservation of our natural resources are:

(i) They should be protected from being polluted.

(ii) More and more vegetation should be planted and endangered species of plants and animals should be protected.

(iii) The wild animals should be conserved by establishing national parks and sanctuaries.

(iv) Hunting of animals should be prohibited.

(v) Recycling of waste materials must be encouraged.

(iv) We should use alternative sources of energy

or use them judiciously  rather than conventional sources like fossil fuels.
