Preparation of soil: Preparation of the soil involves loosening and turning it. This has the following advantages:
(i) Loose soil has a lot of air trapped in it, which is used by the roots to breathe easily.
(ii) Loose soil helps the growth of earthworms and microbes in the soil. They provide nutrients to the soil and aid in further loosening of the soil.
(iii) Turning and loosening of soil brings nutrient-rich soil to the top. Plants can then absorb these nutrients more efficiently. The process of loosening and turning the soil is called tilling or ploughing. It is carried out by using a wooden or iron plough which is pulled either by animals or by tractor.

Legumes are of the Leguminosae family. They enclose their seeds inside their pods – these seeds are the food that we eat. When both the seed and the pod is consumed – as with green beans and snow peas – the legume is considered to be a vegetable. Under the legume umbrella we have beans, lentils, peas, and peanuts. Leguminous plants belong to the family Fabaceae (or Leguminosae). The fruits of this plant are called legumes. Well-known examples of legumes include alfalfa, clover, peas, beans, lentils, lupins, mesquite, carob, soy, and peanuts.

The people who have no permanent homes and continuously move from one place to another are called nomads. Till about 10000 B.C., people were nomadic and ate fruits and vegetables found in nature and started hunting animals for food. Later, they settled near sources of water and cultivated land to produce wheat, paddy and other food crops. This is how agriculture originated. The growing of crops in the fields for obtaining food is called agriculture.

When the same kind of plants (crops) are grown in the fields on a large scale to obtain foods like cereals, pulses, vegetables, fruits, etc., it is called a crop.

Grains that provides carbohydrates and proteins sufficiently in order to meet the energy needs are called cereal grains. Amost 80% of carbohydrates and 15% proteins come from cereals. The cereal grains are grown worldwide and are major components of food.

These are also known as staple crops because they are rich in energy and boost up the energy level of the body. Cereal is considered to be the most substantial source of food in Asian countries. Some common cereal crops are barley, wheat and rice.

Pasteurization is the process in which milk is heated at a high temperature and then quickly cooled and packed. In this way,the shelf-life of the milk increases and the milk is fresh for a longer period of time. For eg. Packed milk like Amul, etc.

Kt King 5 years, 1 month ago

The milk is heated to about 70 degree celcius for 15 to 30 seconds...and suddenly chilled and stored.by doing so this prevents the growth of microbes and this process discovered by louis pasteur is known as pasteurization........

We have to know about force as it is a greater term for exam... Force is a push or pull on a body or an object....There must be an interaction between two body for force to act .Let take some examples like hitting ball in cricket, kicking ball in football, opening or closing the door, pushing a car, suppose some persons doing these activities then can you guess what are they doing, yes they are applying their force to do this...interaction is a kind of action in which one objects or body interacts with other for applying of force....with out interaction you cannot apply force on any thing...on the basis of interaction force can be characterised as contact and non contact force...contact force are those force which can be apply only by touching the objects and non contact is without touching.....we can take example all thing we are doing that are contact force because every time we are applying our force by touching and gravitional force or electrostatic force and magnetic force are non contact forces...you can write about electrostatic force in exam as:- Take two balloons ,two refills and a wollen cloth..rough them in wollen cloth and take two balloons closer two each other you can see that they are trying to repel with each other and if you take two refills closer to each other then also they will repel means they don't want to come together and finally if you take one refills and one ballon then they will attract with each other...atoms are two types Electrons=- Protons=+ By doing the experiment we can Know that like charges --,++ repel and unlike charges-+,+- attract And attraction or reputation is nothing but a force This force carried out by static charges is called electrostatic charges..... Take a magnet and and an iron nail keep together they will try to attract and if you move the first magnet about one orientation and keep another magnet close to it you can see that they will repel... Like electrostatic force as like charge and unlike charge magnetic force have poles as like poles and unlike poles... Poles are north and south poles... Above results like poles repel with each other and unlike poles attract with each other. This force carried out by magnet is called magnetic force Last is gravitational force and please threw a stone in the air,you can see that the stone is not going up that is coming down towards the earth and that force of pulling any objects towards it by the earth is called gravitational force . Support me by thanking........ Keep learning

Weeds are unwanted or undesired plants which grow naturally in the soil. They take up all the nutrients and the minerals but they are not helpful in anyway. Sometimes they grow so large that they block the path of light for the desired crop thus, leading to the death of the desired plant or crop. They need to be controlled before they grow too large. Some preventive measures are: •Using weedicides •Proper and regular ploughing of the feild and taking them out by hands or machines.

The weeds are the unwanted plants grow in our field and absorb the nutrients of our plants

Gaurav Seth 5 years, 1 month ago

Weeds are unwanted plants in the cultivated field. They compete for nutrients, space, water & light, therefore, adversely affect crop growth.

Weeds can be controlled by applying weedicides. These are chemicals which kill weeds without damaging the crops. These chemicals are diluted with water and then sprayed with a sprayer to the field. Since these chemicals are toxic, therefore farmers should cover their mouth/ nose while applying weedicides.
