Depth and density

Siya Mandhan 5 years ago

Pressure within a liquid depends only on the density of the liquid, the acceleration due to gravity and the depth within the liquid. The pressure exerted by such a static liquid increases linearly with increasing depth.

Yogita Ingle 5 years ago

The pressure exerted by the liquid depends on that body depends on:

  1. The depth of body: The depth of the body at which the pressure of the liquid is acting on the body. Deeper the body, higher would be the extent of the pressure of liquid acting on the body.
  2. The density of liquid: The pressure of liquid acting on any particular body hugely depends upon the density of the liquid (the physical quantity depending on the mass-volume ratio). Higher the density, higher would be the pressure of liquid acting on the body in contact with that liquid

Peat is a soft, crumbly, dark brown substance that is formed from generations of dead and partially decaying organic matter. ... Peat is the first step in the formation of coal, and slowly becomes lignite after pressure and temperature increase as sediment is piled on top of the partially decaying organic matter. Peat is not coal, but can eventually transform into coal under the right circumstances. Peat is an accumulation of partly decayed vegetation that has gone through a small amount of carbonization. However, peat is still considered part of the coal “family” because it contains energy that its original plants contained.

Fertilisers 1)Fertiliser is inorganic salt. 2) Fertiliser is prepared in factories. 3) fertiliser doesn't provide any humus to the soil. 4) fertiliser are very rich in plant nutrients like nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. Manures 1)Manure is a natural substance obtained by the decomposition of cattle dung, human waste and plant residues. 2)Manure can be prepared in the fields. 3) Manure provides a lot of humus to the soil. 4)Manure is relatively less rich in plant nutrients.

Yogita Ingle 5 years ago

Manure and fertilizers function in the same way that is adding fertility to the soil. But they are different from each other.

Manures are obtained or prepared from natural sources like kitchen waste, vermicompost, human waste, and by decomposing the biodegradable materials. Manures are environment-friendly and are produced at a low cost. It is cost economical to farmers.

The fertilizers are synthetically and chemically manufactured in the factories and industries. Fertilizers harm the microbes present in the soil which help in nitrogen fixation and other important microbes that are useful to crop. It also decreases the soil fertility if it is prolonged and used for a longer duration. It is not cost economical for farmers.

Divyansh Pandey 5 years ago

Hi sir

Meghna Thapar 5 years ago

The definition of a resource is something that is ready to use if or when it is needed. An example of resource is extra money in a savings account. An example of resource is a friend with electrical skills who has volunteered to help install a lighting fixture. An example of resource is spring water on a piece of land. These resources, called productive resources, are often classified into three groups: natural resources, human resources, and capital resources. Natural resources (often called land) refer to resources such as coal, water, trees, and land itself. Raw materials used in production come from natural resources.

Yogita Ingle 5 years, 1 month ago

Hoe is a tool used for loosening soil. It is made of wood or iron. A strong iron plate attached to the long rod acts like a blade and helps to loosen the soil. It is also pulled by animals.

  • 1 answers

Meghna Thapar 5 years ago

Before sowing the seeds, it is necessary to loosen and turn the soil in the fields as to break it to the size of the grains which is done with the help of three main implements or tools – plough, hoe and cultivator.

  1. Plough: Plough is a large agricultural implement which is used for ploughing or tilling in the fields. The traditionally wooden plough consists of a long log of wood called a plough shaft having a handle at its one end. Below the handle is a strong triangular iron strip called ploughshare. The other end of the ploughshaft can be attached to a wooden beam which is fixed at the right angles to the ploughshaft.

This beam is placed over the neck of two bullocks so as to pull the plough. When the plough is pulled by a pair of bullocks, the farmer holds the handle of the plough and presses down the handle due to which the ploughshare digs into the soil, loosens it and turns it.

  2. Hoe: It is an agricultural implement used for removing weeds, and loosening and turning the soil. It consists of a long rod of wood or iron. There is a handle at one end of the hoe. A strong, broad and bent plate of iron is fixed below the handle and acts like a blade. The other end of hoe has a beam which is put on the neck of bullocks. Thus, a hoe is also pulled by animals like bullocks. Thus, it is a kind of modified plough.
