The Golgi apparatus has multiple names such as Golgi complex or Golgi body. The name is given on the name of the scientist, who discovered the organelle, i.e. Camillo Golgi. It is found in all the eukaryotic cells, plants as well as animals. They are membrane-bound organelle present in the cytosol of the cell.
The Golgi body comprises 5 to 8 cup-shaped, series of compartments known as cisternae. Cisternae is a flattened, disk-shaped, stacked pouches that make up the Golgi apparatus. A Golgi stack mostly contains 4 to 8 cisternae. However, ~60 cisternae are found in some protists. A mammalian cell contains ~40 to 100 stacks of cisternae.

Vegetative propagation is often used when the crop plants either do not produce seeds or when the seeds produced are not viable or are of long dormancy. The method relies on the use of pieces of vegetative plant parts such as stems, leaves, or roots to perpetuate the parent plants. These organs have buds that give rise to new individuals. Food crops such as cassava, sweet potato, sugarcane, pineapple, banana, onion, etc. are propagated vegetatively.

Algae are plant like while protozoa are animal like because some algae are autotrophs which means they can photosynthesis like plants because they contain chlorophyll and protozoa are heterotrophs as are animals. Animal-like protists are commonly called protozoa (singular, protozoan). Most protozoa consist of a single cell. They are animal-like because they are heterotrophs, and are capable of moving. Although protozoa are not animals, they are thought to be the ancestors of animals.

Metals | Non-metals |
Metals are electro-positive. | Non-metals are electronegative. |
Metals reacts with oxygen to form basic oxides. 4Na+O2→2Na2O |
Non-metals react with oxygen to form neutral or acidic oxide.
C+O2→CO2 |
Metal oxides and hydroxides bonds have ionic bonds. | Non-metal oxides and hydroxides have covalent bonds. |
Metals react with water to form hydroxide and hydrogen.
2Na+2H2O→2NaOH+H2 |
Non-metals do not react with water. |
Metals react with dilute acids to form salt and H2. | Non-metals do not react with dilute acid and they can not displace hydrogen. |
Metals react as reducing agent by donating electrons.
Na→Na++e− |
Non-metals are oxidizing agents that can gain the electrons.
Cl2+e−→Cl− |

Corrosion is a process through which metals in manufactured states return to their natural oxidation states. This process is a reduction-oxidation reaction in which the metal is being oxidized by its surroundings, often the oxygen in air. This reaction is both spontaneous and electrochemically favored.

(a) Physical Properties of Metals
• Lustre: Metals in the pure state generally shine. The shine on the metallic surface is called the metallic lustre.
• Malleability: The property of metals by which they can be beaten into thin sheets is known as malleability.
For example, silver metal is beaten to make silver foil used for decorating sweets.
• Ductility: It is one of the properties of metals by virtue of which they can be drawn into wires. For example, copper and iron can be drawn into wires.
• Conductivity: Metals are good conductor of heat and electricity. Heat and electricity can pass through them.
• Sonorous: Metals produce a ringing sound when struck hard. So, they are called sonorous.
• Solid: All metals are solid except Mercury, the only metal which is liquid at room temperate. We can cut sodium (Na) and potassium (K) metals with the help of a knife. Mercury, sodium and potassium are exceptional metals. Examples of metals: iron, copper, gold, aluminium, silver, calcium etc.
(b) Physical Properties of Non-Metals
• Solid non-metals are soft and dull. They break down into a powdery mass on tapping with a hammer. For example, coal and sulphur.
• Non-metals are not sonorous.
• They are poor conductors of heat and electricity.
• They do not possess metallic lusture.
• They possess no malleability and ductility.
Examples of non-metals: phosphorus, sulphur, carbon, oxygen etc.
