Force is a physical cause that can change the state of motion or the dimensions of an object. There are two types of forces based on their applications:
- Contact Force
- Non-Contact Force
Contact Force
Forces which act on a body either directly or through a medium are called contact forces.
Examples of contact forces are:
- muscular force
- mechanical force
- frictional force
We can make use of muscular force of animals like bullocks, horses and camels to get the activities done. The frictional force is another type of contact force which acts between a pair of a surface in contact and tends to oppose the motion of one surface over the other.
Non-Contact Force
Forces which act through spaces without making direct contact with the body are called non-contact forces.
Examples of non-contact forces are:
- gravitational force
- electrostatic force
- magnetic force
The force exerted by a magnet on other magnets is called magnetic force. Magnetic force and electrostatic force act on an object from a distance, that’s the reason they are non-contact forces. The strength of gravity is an attractive force which is exerted by the Earth on objects which make them fall to the land. The weight of a body is the force which is pulled by the earth towards the centre.

Microorganisms like bacteria are single cellular whereas some algae and fungi are multicellular. They are found in all types of habitats. They can live and survive in almost all kinds of environment like hot springs, ice-cold waters, saline water, desert soil or marshy land. Microorganisms can be present inside the human body or that of animals as parasites.

Ear barotrauma is caused by air pressure changes at higher elevations and results in discomfort and pain in the ear(s). When barotrauma causes vertigo, this can indicate damage to the inner ear and may be associated with hearing loss. In addition to your ears, high altitude can affect your overall health. Our ears pop in airplanes because the air high above the surface of Earth is less dense than air near the surface, because air near the surface has all the air above it pushing down. Your inner ear has air trapped in it and as the atmospheric pressure changes, it causes pressure on your ear drum.

An electrolyte is a substance that dissociates into ions in solution acquires the capacity to conduct electricity. Thus, electrolytic solutions contain only ions. So the charge carrier will be ion. An electrolyte solution is a solution that generally contains ions, atoms or molecules that have lost or gained electrons, and is electrically conductive. For this reason they are often called ionic solutions, however there are some cases where the electrolytes are not ions.

Effects of Force:
- A force can move a stationary body. For example if we kick a football kept on the ground with our foot, then the football starts moving.
- A force can stop a moving body. For example the football moving on the ground stops after sometime due to force of friction of ground.
- A force can change the speed of a moving body. For example if someone pushes the moving bicycle from behind then the speed of the bicycle increases and it will move faster.
- A force can change the direction of a moving body. For example in a cricket match, when a cricket ball is hit by a bat, then the direction of the cricket ball changes and it goes in another direction.
- A force can change the shape and size of a moving body. For example if we take a light spring and pull it at both the ends with our hands, then the shape and size of the spring changes.

- A medicine which stops the growth of, or kills the disease-causing microorganisms is called an antibiotic. The source of antibiotic medicines are microorganisms. These days a large number of antibiotics are produced from microorganisms such as fungi and bacteria. Some of the common antibiotics which are made from fungi and bacteria are Penicillin, Streptomycein, Erythromycein and Tetracycline. Antibiotics kill the disease-causing microorganisms but usually do not damage human body cells.
Antibiotics are used to treat many bacterial diseases in humans but are not effective against the diseases caused by viruses.

5.When little pre-made curd is added to warm milk, the Lactobacilli bacteria present in curd multiply and convert into curd.
6.Lacto bacillus bacteria convert the lactose sugar into lactic acid. This lactic acid converts milk into acid.
8.The optimum temperature for the Lacto Bacillus bacteria to convert milk into curd is 40⁰C.
