Let the present ages of son and father be x years and (56 - x) years respectively.
Then, (56 - x + 4) = 3(x + 4)
⇒ 4x = 48
⇒ x = 12
So, their present ages are 12 years, 44 years respectively.

Let,
The units digit = x
The tens digit = 7 - x
Orignal Number :
⇒ 10 (7 - x) + x
⇒ 70 - 10x + x
⇒ 70 - 9x
Digit of the number reversing :
⇒ 10x + (7 - x)
⇒ 10x - x + 7
⇒ 9x + 7
According to the question:
The number with reversed digits increases
The original number by 9 :
So,
⇒ (70 - 9x) + 9 = (9x + 7)
⇒ 70 + 9 - 9x = 9x + 7
⇒ 79 - 9x = 9x + 7
⇒ 79 - 7 = 9x + 9x
⇒ 72 = 18x
⇒ 18x = 72
⇒ x = 72 / 18
⇒ x = 4
The unit digit = 4
The tens digit = 7 - x
⇒ 7 - 4
⇒ 3
The tens digit = 3
Therefore,
The number is 34

Consider the two numbers as x and y. From the given data, we write:
x−y=3
x+y=13
From the first equation, we determine a value for x.
x−y=3
Add y to both sides.
x=y+3
In the second equation, substitute x with (y+3).
x+y=13
(y+3)+y=13
Open the brackets and simplify.
y+3+y=13
2y+3=13
Subtract 3 from each side.
2y=10
Divide both sides by 2.
y=5
In the first equation, substitute y with 5.
x−y=3
x−5=3
Add 5 to each side.
x=8

Multiplying 1/2 by 3/3 and 1/3 by 2/2, we get , . 3/6 and 2/6.
Again multiplying the denominator and nominator of 3/6 and 2/6 by (5+1)= 6,
(2 x 6)/(6 x 6)= 12/36
(3 x 6)/(6 x 6)= 18/36
Therefore, 5 rational numbers between 1/2 and 1/3 are 13/36, 14/36, 15/36, 16/36 & 17/36.
