The term direct proportion is used when the change in the values of two related variables has the same sign. Inverse proportion is used when the change in the value of two related variables has an opposite sign.
In case a variable y is directly proportional to x, when x increases y increases and when x decreases y decreases.
On the other hand if y is inversely proportional to x, when x increases y decreases and when x decreases y increases.

(3-5x-14)/7=(10x-x+2)/2
(-11-5x)/7=(9x+2)/2
2×(-11-5x)=7×(9x+2)
-22-10x=63x+14
-22-14=63x+10x
-36=73x
X=-36/73

Let x be one the three equal angles.
Sum of all the angles of a quadrilateral = 360°
x + x + x + 120° = 360°
3x + 120° = 360°
3x = 360 °- 120°
3x = 240°
x = 240/3°
x = 80°
Thus the measure of each of equal angle is 80°.

Curved surface area of a cylinder is 2πrh.
Given curved surface area of a cylinder is 1320 cm2 .
2πrh = 1320 cm2 .--------(1)
Given volume of the cylinder is 2640 cm3 ,
Volume of the cylinder is πr2h.
πr2h = 2640 --------(2)
Divide (2) by (1) we get
πr2h / 2πrh = 2640 / 1320
r / 2 = 2
r = 4 cm.
Now 2πrh = 1320
2 x (22/7) x 4 x h = 1320
h = (1320 x 7) / (44 x 4)
h = 52.5 cm.
∴ height of the cylinder = 52.5 cm.
