Let the present age of Shobo's be x years. Then, Shobo's mother's present age = 6x year
Five years from now
Shobo's age = (x + 5) years
According to the question,
{tex}x + 5 = \frac{1}{3}(6x){/tex}
∴ x + 5 = 2x
∴ 5 = 2x – x . . . . [Transposing x to R.H.S.]
∴ 5 = x
∴ x = 5
∴ 6x = 6 × 5 = 30 hence, their present ages are 5 years and 30 years.
Verification
30 = 5 × 6
5 + 5 = 10
{tex}10 = \frac{1}{3}(30){/tex} hence, the result is verified.

Let the number be x.
Then, according to the question, {tex}\left( {x - \frac{5}{2}} \right)8 = 3x{/tex}
∴ {tex}8x - \frac{5}{2} \times 8 = 3x{/tex}
∴ 8x – 20 = 3x
∴ 8x – 3x = 20 . . . . [Transposing 3x to L.H.S. and –20 to R.H.S.]
∴ 5x = 20
∴ {tex}x = \frac{{20}}{5}{/tex} . . . . [Dividing both sides by 5]
∴ x = 4 hence, the required number is 4.
Verification
{tex}\left( {4 - \frac{5}{2}} \right)8 = \frac{{8 - 5}}{2} \times 8 = \frac{3}{2} \times 8 = 3 \times 4 = 12{/tex}
3x = 3 × 4 = 12 hence, the result is verified.

P = Rs. 26400
R = 15% p.a.
n = 2 years
{tex}\therefore A = P{\left( {1 + \frac{R}{{100}}} \right)^n} = 26400{\left( {1 + \frac{{15}}{{100}}} \right)^2}{/tex}
{tex} = 26400{\left( {1 + \frac{3}{{20}}} \right)^2} = 26400{\left( {\frac{{23}}{{20}}} \right)^2}{/tex}
{tex} = 26400 \times \frac{{23}}{{20}} \times \frac{{23}}{{20}} = Rs.34914{/tex}
S.I. on Rs. 34914 at 15% p.a. for 4 months
{tex} = \frac{{34914 \times 15 \times 1}}{{3 \times 100}}{/tex}
= Rs. 1745.70
{tex}\therefore {/tex} Required amount = Rs. 34914 + Rs. 1745.70
= Rs. 36659.70
Hence, the amount that Kamala will pay is Rs. 36659.70.

(8)2 = 64 .......... (i)
(6)2 + (7)2 = 36+ 49 = 85 ........ (ii)
From (i) and (ii)
(8)2 ≠ (6)2 + (7)2
So 6,7,8 is not Pythagoras triplet.

Let the denominator of the fraction be x then, numerator is x - 2
and the fraction becomes {tex} = \frac{{x - 2}}{x}{/tex}
when 1 is added to the denominator, the fraction becomes {tex}\frac{1}{2}{/tex}
So, {tex}\frac{{x - 2}}{{x + 1}} = \frac{1}{2}{/tex}
By cross multiplication, we have
2(x - 2) = x + 1
2x - 4 = x + 1
2x - x = 1 + 4
{tex}\therefore {/tex} x = 5
So, the fraction is {tex}\frac{{x - 2}}{x} = \frac{{5 - 2}}{5}{/tex}
i.e. {tex} = \frac{3}{5}{/tex}

Let the no. of girls be 5x
No. of boys=7x
According to the question
5x + 8 = 7x
7x - 5x = 8
2x = 8
x = 8/2
x = 4
No. of girls=5 × 4=20
no. of boys=7× 4 =28
Hence the total strength of the class is 20+28=48
